  1. Big trade a beauty for the devils, now just imagine a 2nd round of the leafs vs bruins, and rangers vs devils in the eat

  2. Exactly the type of player the Devils needed to add. And I'm surprised they were able to add him without giving up any TOP prospects. Still got Hughes, still got Nemec, still got Holtz. And anyone who thought Mercer was going to be traded was nuts.

The picks will help the Sharks for sure and Zetterlund is going to score a lot of goals for em if they give him the chance.

But this makes the Devs instant Cup contenders. All of the sudden that Rangers/Devils 1st round matchup doesnt look so certain. NJ is coming for the division!

  3. Not a Devils fan but good for them and solid pickup. He should fit in nicely there.

  4. Alternative Title: San Jose Sharks acquire treasure trove of franchise altering assets from New Jersey

  5. I'm a long time Devils fan (since 1984) and quite happy with this trade…but I'm left scratching my head….this trade seems very lopsided. What's in it for SJ?

  6. As a Swiss hockey fan, this is amazing. Newark is slowly becoming the Swiss bastion of the NHL, and I love it.

  7. Devils won this trade, assuming they can sign him to a deal, they didn't lose any major players or prospects while they get a legit top 6 guy who brings a physical game

  8. This is a better trade for NJ Devils than the Patrick Kane trade for NYR. Timo can excel at regular season style hockey and playoff style hockey(limited time and space on the ice)and is only 26 years old. He gives the NJD the toughness and 💪 muscle they need at the forward position.
