  1. As a Kings fan, the health of Fiala and Vilardi is monumental in this series. If they're healthy, the Kings become the deeper team. If they can't play it's going to hard to beat Edmonton four times without the team's two best PP players. People forget the Kings had the best record in the league post AS break until the injuries piled up. This is the definition of a pick em series that should go at least 6.

  2. I do think the Oilers will win the series (too much talent, hot at the right time, etc), but the Kings are going to be one hell of an opponent defensively
It could go 6 or 7 games easily.

  3. Oilers will win the series but it won't be a sweep and it won't be easy against the Kings so I'll say Oilers in 6

  4. kings fan here. i was hoping to avoid the oilers in the first round.

    let’s get it on
    go kings go

  5. Fiala being out is going to likely determine the series. Kings need his offense, and I doubt he plays the first two games.

  6. Kings have scoring depth and amazing team D. To me this series comes down to will Fiala and Vilardi play? If so this is a different deeper and more dangerous team. Can LA continue to limit McD? I'll yin Shannons Yang and say things go well for the Kings. Kings in 7 I believe the Oilers are a great team but they also happen to be matching up against the one team that may be able to stifle them. LA gonna surprise u guys if they are healthy

  7. NO PRESSURE on the Kings here; ALL the pressure in the world on the Oilers though

  8. If I remember correctly, last season the Kings where up 3 to 2 games over the Oilers and lost the series. This year Oilers in 5.

  9. McDavid will prove why he is the best in the world when the rest of the Oilers will kick in, Oilers are due…Oilers in 5, LA Kings have age against them, Oilers have 3 100 point players and depth…Oilers are a little better in net…

  10. The Florida panthers averaged over 4 goals per game last regular season by the way. It was the first time a team had done that since the 90s

  11. Oilers in 4. They’ll trample LA this time around if they play like they did in the second half of the season!

  12. The Kings are a better team this year than last post season, but the Oiler's are much much better than they were last year as well. The only question is goal tending and I have full faith in Skinner, he has shown as each level of his career an ability to turn it on in the playoffs and I think while he might have some nerves at first, he will lock it in

  13. 😁I like the under dog. Don't sleep on the Kings! Both teams are evenly matched!

  14. Had the Kings drafted Stützle instead of Byfield and Cozens, Zegras, or Boldy instead of Turcotte, the Kings would likely be the favorite in this, and other, rounds.

  15. I can't see the Kings winning unless McDavid gets hurt. I expect the Oil will win in 6, but a sweep wouldn't totally shock me, either.

  16. I feel that if the kings going to win, it’s going to be if the refs don’t give McDavid all those easy ass penalty calls

  17. Kings in 6. They are just too well rounded compared to the Oilers. Last year they gave the Oilers a run for their money and that was without some key defensive players. If we could get Fiala and Vialardi back, the Oilers will not have a chance.

  18. This is another series with a lot of potential to be really fun to watch – especially given that, historically, these two teams really dislike each other. Both of these teams have been a lot better in terms of allowing goals with the moves they made at the trade deadline, so their overall end of the season numbers make them look worse defensively than what they currently are. Also, the Kings gave up the fourth least amount of shots/game in the regular season, so I don't think their defense were at fault for the majority of the goals their team allowed.

Although Edmonton has been absolutely fantastic since the beginning of March, Los Angeles had an excellent 0.700 winning percentage in that timeframe, so they weren't slouches by any means either.

Anyhow, I think Edmonton wins this series in SEVEN games – only because the Oilers' offensive potential is much better than the Kings' – I honestly can't see LA being able to shut down McDavid, Draisaitl, and co. enough to win four games out of a seven game series.

  19. L.A is dangerous, not only in the series, but to go deep. This Kings team remind me of the 2012 8th seed Kings that won it all. Korpisalo may not be considered an elite goalie, but I expect that will change after these playoffs. I think the Stars are the west favorite, but L.A is right behind and nobody is saying this. Kings in 6 or 7.

  20. Everyone talks about McDavid putting up numbers, but not talking about how goals are on the rise in the league. How much of his season is him and how much is it that the NHL is going through an offensive rise? I suspect a combination of both.

  21. Question is how bad Durzi is going to be versus McDavid. Its gonna be rough for the Kings, especially if Fiala and Vilardi dont play.

  22. Injuries hurt LA. They were 13-5-2 down the stretch but that was adding a 3 game losing streak (5 games total if you date the injuries back to the Calgary game when Fiala got hit knee on knee) after they lost Fiala, Vilardi, Anderson, and Edler to injuries.

Up until that point LA was 1 point out of overtaking Vegas for #1 in the entire Western Conference.

Anderson and Edler are back. Fiala and Vilardi Kings are keeping things top secret. Nobody knows anything, so we will have to wait till game 1 starts to find out more on Gabe and Kevin…

If LA is healthier than they are letting on Edmonton is in for a tough round 1. If LA isn't healthier it's gonna be an uphill climb for LA.

  23. The Oilers Ekholm / Nugent players I always wanted to trade for.. both underrated.. seeing Nugent getting 100+ yet not a lot of buzz around that accomplishment..
Gavrikov is another I wanted last year to play with Romanov when he was a hab.. (even when they traded Romy i still wanted Gav.)
I'm rooting for LA but having Ekholm in the lineup.. this going to be tough..
This time LA dman have a healthy Drew and Gav(maybe the JManson that AVS had last yr cept no fighting) and a solid Korpisalo.
I am unsure about Oilers goaltending.. but with Ekholm in the back end..
Guessing my darkhorse will be LA this year again.

  24. Bro! Why are you wearing that jersey! I've designed a new one. Classic… way better! Need to get it to the powers that be to make it into their new logo!

  25. I think there are a lot of Oiler fans who don't realize how much depth LA has and believe this will be an easy series EDM may have 3-80+ pt guys and 4-30+ goal scorers but LA is much more balanced EDM has 13-10+(and 1w/ 8) goal scorers but LA has 11(and 3 w/9), EDM has 15-20+pt guys, so does LA but when broken down EDM 3-100+pts, 1-80+, 2-40+,1-30+ no one else more than 26pts where LA has 2-70 pt guys,1-60pts, 3-50pts(1-59pts), 1-40pts, 3-30pts(1-38pts),5-20pts(1-29pts, 1-28pts) and 2 guys who had 19 pts and while EDM had 4 guys over 20 goals LA had 5 and another w/18 and defensively LA's D blocked a combined 851 shots compared to 644 for EDM's D, LA's D also out hit EDM's D 719-640 the Kings PK has also been clicking at 83.5% since Jan 1 and killed 12 of 14 against EDM and 1 thing LA has they didn't last play-offs or this years season series for that matter 2 D-pairs that can effectively limit McDavid and draisaitl but if LA wants to win they'll have to shut down King killer Evander Kane he has burned LA many times it should be an entertaining series I like LA don't care how many games just 4 wins then 4 more and so on

  26. Pick: Oilers in 5

Reasoning: The Kings just got a bad draw this year, the Oilers have the best powerplay of all time, have only lost 3 regulation games since February, 3 100 point scorers, and the greatest player in the world in Connor McDavid, you better believe I'm picking the Oilers.
