I have a fairly significant birthday coming up in May, and I had originally saved some money to go to a game this time of year anticipating that he’d return. I’ve seen some folks go to games asking for a stick from a player, but they always have glass seats, and I can’t afford that and God only knows when he’s coming back so I thought, why not just buy the damn thing π cheaper than glass seats!
At first I was like “do I really want to spend that much on a beat up old hockey stick” and then I was like… yes, yes I do π I may or may not have referred to it (mostly jokingly but also not) as “the sacred relic of a hero” in a conversation with a coworker π Like, he stopped so many pucks with this, it was his sword and shield, it was by his side for at least a little while based on the wear on it. It’s totally one of the coolest things I’ve bought myself. It’s wild that this was his and now it’s mine. I’m so giddy π I’ll eventually hang it up on the wall but for now I’m having too much fun posing with it like I’m a 6’4″ right-handed goalie π One man’s trash is truly another woman’s treasure!
