I miss how physical that lineup was without sacrificing skill.

Edler, Hamhuis, Bieksa, Alberts, Rome, and Ballard could all hit. Torres was an absolute wrecking ball. Then we had smaller fast guys like Lapierre, Burrows, Kesler, Hansen, Higgins that could run through you.

Every player on the roster served a purpose and had a role, there were no fillers. On top of all that physicality, we were the most skilled team in the league and we played like we knew it.

No, Vancouver fans aren’t allowed to have nice things. At most, we can have nice things that end up ruining our draft position which makes them not nice things. This team was damned when the riots happened.

  3. happigofucky

I hope they show our current rosters these highlights so they can look at what a ‘hockey players’ NHL really is. You gotta be fucking savage out there!

Jesus christ that Defensive corp was unreal…

  5. Semprovictus

Fuck I forget what good hockey is like…

The intensity, fan involvement… The drive…

    I miss playoff hockey

Kesssssler! I genuinely miss that team. After this season I’ve come to appreciate that Era a notch more than I already did. Amazing truly amazing years of hockey. How good was kess? Everyone on that team.

12 years ago sheesh. Too long…. Way too long.

  8. christoval

how can something so good and magical make me feel so sad.. i miss those days.

  9. RelevantJackWhite

Is it weird how I know this from just the thumbnail

  10. Anybody else here think that Kesler and JT have very similar play styles? Both physical power forwards who do a bit of everything.

  11. cosalich

I don’t even need a franchise high point. Just let me follow the team without wallowing in despair for a change.

Man 2010 was such an awesome time. Watching Canucks playoff hockey and the olympic games too. As a kid we would play road hockey during intermissions and one time we missed the start of the period, the Canucks scored and the entire neighbourhood started screaming, we dropped our sticks and bolted inside to see it. Will never forget that.

  13. Echoing other comments. Holy shit we could hit.

scary that this was only 12 years ago. Great time being a canuck fan. The Sedins were frustrating at times, but they were so special to watch controlling the play. Luongo definitely deserved to be treated better. He was easily the best goalie the Canucks ever had . Seeing Kesler dominate the preds was great to watch as well.

  15. Goadahell

I was at both the gold medal game and this game. This one felt better.

  16. gavinmfsmith

Fuck this is mad depressing from the hyped up crowd to that goal song, man i miss being excited for hockey why do we do this to ourselves lmfao

  17. kural1993

When Manny went down I know a lot of us had doubts that we could go far. He was a big piece on the third line and defensively. But acquiring Lappy and Higgins was such an underrated move.

Anybody think its weird that Toews goal isn’t in this video? Like I get its a Canucks video, but that was an incredible goal and a big part of the story of this game, can’t really call these the highlights without one of the goals in a 2-1 game…

  19. Horvat53

It’s an absolute disgrace we went from the 2011 core to this abysmal mess of a decade.

Something I never noticed until now, watch Duncan Keith after hauled down Burrows that led to his penalty shot. After tripping Burrows, he sees him sliding into the net/post and jumps on him to try to slam him harder into the post. The guy is such a piece of shit.
4:19 into the video if anyone is interestred.

  21. Looney_forner

Jim Hughson was something else as a commentator. Holy hell.
