Brutal call, Ref's were terrible and completely one-sided last night, that's a two minute penalty at best. No elbow whatsoever… Just follow through from the hit.

Watson is taller than Motte. Watson didn't leave his feet. The puck was heading off the boards by Motte's feet. Motte was open and looking down at the puck. Watson wanted to block the play and keep the puck in the zone. If you think THAT is a brutal hit? Hockey is done. Come on, you non genger fans.

Hockey is rough, dirty hit? yeah….I'd agree as a sens fan, but at the end of the day, he is finishing his man, This IS NOT the snowflake league, these plays happen, I think the results (punishment) were perfectly assessed, suspension for this would be a joke. He is simply taking his man, Hockey 101, Unfortunately the contact 100% was to the head, I do not think this was intentional, hockey is fast things happen fast, so again punishment served, 5Min plus a KO game, is fair. In the 90's this is a regular occurrence weekly, League has changed a lot. Big boy sport. Big Boy results.

Watsons reaction was just disrespectful…how low that dude is…that was clearly meant to only hurt.
Then the NHL comes out and clarified that it’s a clean hit with a bad result. Absolute joke that he got tossed for this. 2 minutes at most and even that would be pushing it.
People seriously need to learn how head contact rules work. Primary point of contact is important. It’s clear that Watson hits shoulder to shoulder and it knocks Motte down, causing his head to go where his shoulder was.
Any referee worth his salt knows this.
NHL is turning the players into a bunch of puss cakes. Old school game would’ve had the enforcer make it right his next shift those days are gone. It was slightly dirty but that’s how hockey was meant to be played
