If we draft at 5 and he's still available, it has to be Will Smith.
But finishing at the 28th spot means we're more likely to draft 6th overall. Hopefully Smith will still be there.
Now the question is, if we move up to the second spot, who the habs are picking? Fantilli I hope, but mtl might go another direction.

Always draft the best player available…regardless of the Team's needs. My guess the Habs will draft 3rd and they'll select Carlson.
I think Montreal should go on free agent market because they don't no how to draft and when they do they can't get him going they got them playing defence instead of offense

Based on talnkathon odds, if we finished 5th last , 28th, we will only have odds for the following spots….1st overall is 8.5% 2nd is 8.8% 5th is 24.5 %, 6th is 44% and 7th is 13 percent or something close to that. But we would have no shot at picks 3 or 4 if we finish 5th based on talnkathon
I agree with you if Michkov is available when we pick, we should grab him! Even if he’s not coming over to the NHL for 2 years … as we will be closer to where we want to be by then! Having 2 elite goal scorers in Caufield and Michkov would make our top 6 dangerous! Throw Suzi and Slaf in there and Andy… and perhaps PLD !! And still have Dach too!! Future is looking bright!
