How about just commenting on the Sens and their potential for next year? TSN gets to be such a turnoff with their encouragement of people to mindf*** about the future. it's no wonder players hate these types of journalists. How about just being good journalists, rather than trying to turn everything into black and white division….for clicks and views??
To the question that forms the title of the relevant TSN SportsCentre episode, it’s possible the Sens will see playoff action in April 2024, but only if they understand the need to build on the momentum of this season. It is after all easy to slide backwards as the Canucks this season did from having finished 5th in the Pacific to 6th. Finishing October, excluding preseason games, with a 2–5–2–0 win-regulation loss-OT loss-shootout loss record, then January with a 4–9–0–0 one, helped pretty much by February put to bed a potential playoff run, although barely having earned over half a point on average per game during each of November and December didn’t help very much either. Sure the Canucks had an excellent March but there’s no doubt that even WITH a change in head coach from Bruce Boudreau to Rick Tocchet, giving up in too many games at least 3 goals, particularly when having given up at least 4 goals, combined with subpar goaltending during Demko’s lengthy injury stint, helped keep the Canucks far enough away from a playoff spot to now being eliminated from getting to qualify for playoff action.
As a Red Wings fan I can confirm 100%!.. they made us there B*TCH that series and it took a lot out of the Red Wings and Red Wings fans!.. even though the refs we're awful the start of that first game of the series 😅 and look like they were paid to give out of the momentum it doesn't take away the fact that ottowa came out way more physical and look like they were in playoff mode.. no team played the Red Wings that physical all season up until then!
My Red Wings did surprisingly horrible versus the Sabres and Senators this season!.. it was absolutely embarrassing because they clearly have the necessary talent to beat those teams but the Red Wings aren't quite there yet .. imo they're a hair behind both of those teams..and need to bulk up!.. on some interest there still bit soft and young of course.. it's alright.. they'll improve 😒😌
much respect for the Senators and along with the Sabres!!.. boy-oh-boy the Buffalo Sabres!!.. if that team ever finds some defense which I have a feeling they will then the NHL better watch out!!😮😬.. THAT'S A YOUNG, FUN, HUNGRY TEAM!.. they're built similar to the New Jersey Devils.. and you see how they took off out of nowhere! But as for my Red Wings, Stevie-Y WILL make the necessary moves this offseason for the Red Wings it's going to be us three taking the biggest leaps and battling for years to come!
The Penguins and Capitals are ascending downwards!.. their time is coming to a near end and it's time for the rebuild or restructure.. The Panthers could be next but they seem to be doing a fairly decent job staying afloat.. but all those contracts from a couple years ago is starting to catch up.. AND .. and those are your THREE likely playoff SPOTS!
if we don't get a goalie we aren't finishing higher than 5th in the atlantic i say that with certainty if we get a goalie we SHOULD make the playoffs but anything is possible with this team so I'm not sold yet
