Ron Francis has clearly had a game plan he refused to deviate from, even when the team had a poor year one.

Shannon i'm not sure if you've been to a game at Climate Pledge, but if you haven't, you should definitely go. It's such a blast. Cassie called our team a bunch of castaways, and I gotta say i love our group of misfit toys.
Vancouver's next scouting trip ought to be to Seattle to check up on how to do things the right way . As a quiz , who is Seattle's star player ? No Crosby in sight , no Ovichkin , no Marchant ,and NO BO HORVAT
Great video Shannon. Thanks for all your hard work.
Let's get Kraken!!!
You really appreciate the difficulty of winning a Stanley Cup. Just getting to a final is major achievement. You just have to look no further than the Leafs. The Leafs won in 1967, but haven't even competed in final since then. The Blackhawks were another long wait team for a Cup until decades later. The Canucks and Sabres, sister expansion teams of 1970, have both made it to a final three times – no Cups.
Terrific presentation, thank you THG does it again! 🥅🏒🌟⚡️✅
Fuck everyone who wrote us off 🦑
As a pens fan…. FIRE HEXTALL
No one makes over $6m (Dunn will next year). Forward play at most 18 minutes. It’s a different way of using the cap. BTW, Wright’s team got knocked out of the OHL playoffs last night so he’s moving again
It will be scary for whoever faces them in the first round. Seattle has nothing to lose.
I'm surprised you'd say Vanacek isn't a top 10 goaltender in the league, I'd probably put him at least at #10 right now
Part of is becuase I'm an Avs fan, and another part of it is retribution for the cup win, but if Colorado gets Seattle in the first round I'm picking Seattle
I need to get me a Kraken jersey, they have one of the better looking ones in the league. And there’s not many, most teams have ugly ones
19:44 he said the thing
One and done they have no solid goalie options and no naughty lvl players like McDavid or pasta
Ive wanted nhl hockey in seattle since i was a young adult in my 20s going to winterhawk games living in southwest washington back in the early 10s. This is honestly something ive dreamed about, not figuratively but literally, i wanted it so bad i would dream of a seattle team playing playoff hockey in my sleep back in the day😅
Fluke year with hakstol as cosch
As a Canucks fan I hope Seattle goes all the way and wins the cup.
As a Golden Knights fan, I want to congratulate the Kraken for making the playoffs for the first time in their franchise history. I hope you do well in the postseason and good luck
That’s Kraken Hockey!! Playoffs can’t come soon enough!
Not a single player has a cap hit over $6 million, I know that will eventually change with Berniers next contract, but it is a very interesting experiment in seeing how much depth can a team have with this type of strategy
Pittsburgh regrets losing McCann and Tanev.
Martin jones has carried. Wonder how much money they give him
senior depth in a somewhat dysfunctional conference
Speaking of Joonas Donskoi. I think it was in mid december he had an interview with a Finnish newspaper. Where though nothing was said directly but you could read between the lines (assuming you know Finnish) that he might never play hockey again.
Haven't heard of him lately but back then he still had quite hard neck pain so I think he is unfortunately done 😔
THANKS!!!
Gourde going to Seattle was a was equivalent to Dan Cloutier going to VAN. Makes me a fan of the team because of a player.
I wish the Sharks benefited from the same expansion rules the Knights and Kraken got. Sharks were not allowed to draft Lindros lol. That said, nice to see Seattle in the playoffs so soon.
Let's be honest though, if it wasn't for Winnipeg and Nashville going head to head in the second round, Vegas doesn't go to the Finals in their first season.
Quick first round exit for Kraken. It's a good story, no doubt.
I picked Kraken to be Top 4 in Pacific so not surprised at all. I had predicted they would make Playoffs within first three years. Ron Francis signing Grub set them back 3 to 5 years instead of sticking with better cheaper Vanacek. Biggest problem was lack of RHD so signing Schultz really helped that along with Borgen. Dunn is more of a PP guy they traded for Megna if wanted to move Soucy. Kings should have rolled dice claiming Driedger putting Quick on Waivers. Stars might be their best chance to Win. Knights would be cool to see them play. Martin Jones ONly Chance to get into 2nd round taking Sharks to SCF. Grub couldn't win in Post Season with Capitals or Avalanche he wont do it for Seattle ;). Tolvanen was Huge Pickup too :).
I'm so giddy right now. Can't wait to attend my first hockey playoff game.
I feel bad for Columbus fans. If Seattle manages to win a playoff series this year (and the outlook's currently looking very good), the CBJ will cement themselves as the biggest failure in the entirety of professional hockey. Took 'em nineteen years to accomplish it, and it's looking like it may be even longer before they get their next one. Freaking yikes.
That road trip back in January where they went 8-0 and gave Boston their first home loss was incredible. That's a big reason they made the playoffs this year and it bodes well for their playoff changes to be able to play on the road.
MCcann is a modern day Neely. More than 40 goals this year. Canucks lost a prodigy for not much.
It’s not surprising at all that they made the playoffs in year 2 and Vegas in year 1. These expectation drafts were completely unfair, especially compared to the teams from the 90’s 00’s just look at their records on your board. That’s a real expansion draft.
What are you doing tonight Shannon? No games…
Great content, Shannon !…….As usual
I think year 1 was greatly affected by covid…. didn't give them as much chance of bonding
Warms my heart seeing a 2nd year team making the playoffs while my team for the 3rd year in a row is sitting home.
Never thought I'd be saying this so fervently but I am praying that we sign Sprong and keep him on. Same goes for Vince Dunn lock him up for goooood please. 🙂
Once Seattle grabbed Tolivanen off of waivers from Nashville playoffs were pretty much a done deal. Great moves from the Front Office
A great season for sure, but I have questions whether it's sustainable. They could easily miss next go in and out of the playoffs in the future unless they add more pieces
Seattle’s away record is very impressive, so I don’t think we mind not having home advantage in the playoffs
