The book is out on Grier. Guy is walking around with an L on his forehead. So sad 😭
Decent return. You can do decent in any trade with time. Obviously our view of this trade will change with time cause there are so many unknowns yk so just wait and maybe we did well for ourselves like Ottawa did with Karl
Ugh, the Sharks acquired some much needed depth to the prospect pool. But, none of which are elite level. Pretty weak move from Mike Grier.
Not to kick you while your down but this is hilarious after your trade proposals and comments about Devils fans 😂
The fact that Grier settled for this dogshit package. Unbelievable.
Apparently it’s not even 2 1st’s. as the 2024 pick is conditional to them making the eastern conference finals.our biggest trade chip gone for next to possibly nothing.
While I am stoked, I’m going to miss Zetterlund tbh. Guy is electric and is going to be a pretty good regular in the NHL.
Devils fan coming in peace. You guys got a nice return. If Zetterlund is given a chance he will eventually be a solid 2nd line winger. With Couture and Hertl he could fit in nicely with either of em
I like Mukhamandulin's upside a lot more than Okhotiuk but there were recent reports that he might be better used as a forward so that concerns me. The picks are where I think the Sharks did well in this deal. You def dont want any players that are going to help you this year but the two 1st's could absolutely make that rebuild turn around quicker than expected.
Might be rooting for you guys to get Bedard. Better than the Ducks and keep him out of the East.
As a Devils fan I can say Grier schooled Fitzgerald here. If the Devils don't sign Meier, they gave away too much for a rental. I'm not sure this moves them to a bona fide 2023 cup contender. We don't have enough toughness and Vitek Vanecek was pretty rough in his playoff experience. Nikita Okhutiok is a bruiser who's a bit raw. Zetterlund is a very good player at the NHL level right now. And the picks
fleeced lmao. LGD
What did the Sharks get to rebuild with though
Devils getting Meier and not giving up Mercer is such a win for NJ.
It’s not great for the sharks but it was never going to be. I don’t think it was a D or F grade. Maybe a C- or D+ but with upside. But upside can feel insecure. Time will tell
Very whelming return. We went for quantity over quality. Could’ve done better
I wanted to keep muk solid defense first dman could be a top 2 to 4
You guys were never going to get Mercer so stop saying how he was available the only way u would’ve gotten him was 1 for 1 that’s it.
Yup, The Fin Factor read two grades they follow. One was the Devils got an A, Sharks got a C. The other grade: Devils a A- or B+, while the Sharks got a D/D-. Another pointed out, that the Sharks are on the 10 year plan. The results will be seen a decade from now. Ugh.
Trade was horrendous. Mike sucks
Guy is completely wrong about grade a prospect . Shak will be a top pairing dman for the sharks for years .
Anybody who thought SJ could land a grade A prospect as PART of a haul for Timo Meier just has to look at what TB gave up for Tanner Jeannot to see what a grade A prospect is really worth (I consider players on their ELC to still be prospects in terms of trade value).
First off I'm a devils fan..I think some shark fans are looking at this all wrong. The sharks are gonna replace Timo with their own 1st round selections the next couple drafts. The pieces they got for Meier are gonna be some really good pieces to surround them with. Zetterlund is a pitbull type player. Shakir is a tall offensive Dman who could be a really good get if developed. Ohutyuk is hard hitting Dman. Plus those 2 picks could turn into really good players. It's alot of "Ifs" but to get all that for a player who was technically traded as a "rental" because he's yet to be signed is a good deal for you guys. I think Grier held out for as long as he could and once other teams dropped out or made trades elsewhere he made the best trade he could've
FLEECED!!!
San Jose got 1 solid NHL player in the whole deal. And he was a rookie 4th liner in NJ!!!
Zetterlund has a big upside for sure. A quality well rounded talent with big upside.
Decent D prospect in Nikita. I do like a lot.
Andreas is garbage salary dump and over drafted first round reach pick bust Shakir who won't leave Russia are both brutal.
Cool you got a pick but SHarks got FLEECED for sho.
Good luck to y’all Sharks 🦈 Fans with GM Mike Grier at the helm. God awful trade.
Zetterlund is a good player, but the Devils got better. You've been robbed.
WE TOLD YOU GUYS THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE MERCER, HUGHES, or NEMEC WOULD BE INVOLVED. I am incredibly pleased we were able to keep Holtz. I'm sure Fitz told Grier if you want Holtz instead of Muk than the 24 draft pick is a 3rd rounder or no Okhotiuk. Grier went with the quantity package.
Nice breakdown
I remember when everyone was crying about the Tage Thompson trade, now look at him. A late 1st is an issue? Pavelski was a 7th rounder. Let the young guys develop and stop thinking with your feeling, be logical. Have you seen the Sharks prospect pool, especially on the defensive side? Its incredibly poor
