DK: Rust's "burst" of speed has been his trademark. More than anything else, that aspect of his game helped him achieve his current contract, so it's definitely a positive for the Pens to see it "return," as it matters for Sid's line and the team.
Rust’s contract is one more example of the state of the franchise. They kept the status quo with a contract too long with a no movement clause.

And now we're reminded why the Penguins lost in the playoffs in 2012. Evgeni Malkin is an idiot. He can't be trusted to do the smart or needed thing even when every point is crucial to them right now. There's too much stupid on this team to get out of their own way long enough even when things are working for them. You know they'll find a way to screw things up. From the avoidable pucks over glass, and the bad and halfhearted clearing attempts, to the idiotic roughing penalties, this team is a skating bomb looking for a lit match. There also isn't a defenseman on this team that I'd take back next season, and that goes for Letang and his 1000 games. I'm sure he has more than 1000 bad pinches and blind backhanded clearing attempts/passes to go with it and the 2000 clearing attempts…sorry I meant shots, that missed the net. I know it would be too much to ask for, but can we please replace P.O.J. with Ty Smith next season and trade Petry to whoever, for whatever just to clear cap space to resign Zucker? Just for starters I mean, becuase with this self-destructive team and out of touch management/coaching, I realize nothing is really going to change their downward spiral.
So now the object is collecting points isn’t that the objective the minute the season starts? What the hell and what’s up with this Malkin taking penalties is it the fact that he’s not moving his feet the number one thing in hockey that’s preached the minute you put on skates in peewee hockey unbelievable

And to think I was upset to see DeSmith in net. He played great last night. I was just upset because we needed that win so bad and Jarrys been out so much does he really need rest? When the games are this important?.. he can rest all off season if we miss the playoffs was all I could think… I’ll take the dub tho
