Leafs played last night, had a reduced roster, and had a goalie change mid game. Outshot them 44-23. Shit happens! I’m just annoyed that we couldn’t pick up a few more points on Tampa, but we should be able to secure home ice going 3-3, so whatever.
We definitely need AI refs. These human officials are just way too inconsistent and error-prone. And I, for one, would welcome our new robot referee overlords.

We had about four games worth of bad luck all in one tonight. So many posts, refs having it out for Bunting, and muffins going through our goalies. Can’t blame Sammy when he’s unrested. Just gotta forget about this and move on.
If we play anything like this against Tampa we are doomed. Also I’m sick of all these break aways, 2 on 0’s and 2 on 1’s we give out like Halloween candy.
If this tampa/leaf series comes down to coaching, we’re fucked with Keefe at the helm

Such a weird game, on to the next one.
Badly outshot them, out hit them, dominated the face-off circle … all positive.
Murray’s injury is unfortunate, but even before that his play should’ve put a rest to any talk of him starting in the postseason. Giveaways and defensive breakdowns really need to get cleaned up before we face a team like Tampa.
This game showed how critical Marner is. Also, Tavares with a -4. He really needs to be better without the puck if we hope to do anything in the playoffs.
It’s just not good enough. I don’t care we’re missing players. Detroit is a bad team. That should have atleast got to OT and it wasn’t even close.
Leafs have one of the worst records against bottom teams in the NHL this year. Just bleeding points left right and center.
These guys don’t get the benefit of the doubt. They haven’t earned it. 0-7 in elimination playoff games.
Thought the Leafs played great, didn’t go our way. Let’s get home ice settled in the next couple of games

I don’t really care about the outcome, that 10 min call on bunts has me fuming. Such a clown league…
One of those games where we played quite well but the bounces didn’t quite go our way. Sort of the opposite of last night in that regard. But we were also missing 5-6 key players from our playoff roster, so there’s not too much to get fussed about here. Thought Nylander had some great jump again tonight, he’s really been moving his legs a lot better and generating chances again the last couple games.
So what I’m seeing here is that we should never rest Marner again

What is wrong with you guys? We literally had a shutout last night, are missing 3 regulars tonight, and switched goalies mid game, and so many people talking about “oh they aren’t even trying now” “there goes home ice” like holy shit, y’all are crazy.

This Leafs team is simply not better than last year. They ended with 115 points last year. Yes, Tampa has taken a step back as well, but they get the benefit of the doubt from all their success. I’ll keep watching and keep wanting them to win. I don’t know about you guys, but I just haven’t felt really excited this year. I’m just kind of waiting for the playoffs to get this over with and for us to still not be good enough. It sucks feeling this way.

Honestly glad to see comments are reasonable. Not a bad loss, we had a bad start but we definitely outplayed them without McCabe and Marner.
Tavares does need to be better without the puck tho.

Someone needs to take the fine and call out the refs on the Bunting stuff. I get it he plays like a pest and he is a little rat but the calls he is getting and no getting are absolutely fucking ridiculous at this point. This can’t continue into the playoffs so take the fine now and out the zebras on notice
Both calls on him tonight were total bush league
these constant losses when getting over 40 shots in the past few years is a total embarassment. also, win one, lose one is getting pretty bad.
