Which is worse, a split lip, or possible traumatic brain injury at or near the brain stem? He's not wrong that they're inconsistent, but if anything he deserved more than double the suspension for back of skull vs piehole.

Blake lizotte did a crosscheck In the face 2 days ago and got a game also, it’s fair
before seeing the clip of his crosscheck to couture i thought his was accidental as he left out that he “full blown intentionally” did it as well. i agree with him otherwise but he kinda left his end of the blame out.
I mean back of the head vs front of the head…ontop of that he left 10min into the game so that's like a 2 game suspension but I do agree player safety isn't consistent.

Mike Hoffman faked a cross check to Greer and Greer reacted by actually doing it. Tough shit. Deal with it. Player safety probably agrees hence the one game suspension.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. The NHL is a joke. So many instances where sometimes it's called and sometimes it's not. No consistency in the NHL. There is no other league that makes it as obvious as the NHL on what team they want to win. They can't control it fully who will win but you can always tell who they want to win with the way a game is reffed

As a parent of a 9yo who plays, full cage should just be mandatory going forward.

Over the years, they have gotten very few suspensions correct. Very few. A 1 game suspension is a joke. They should start at 5 and go up to banishment for repeat offenders. If you do something worthy of a suspension, you should be made an example of.

He’s definitely not wrong…especially if you consider that this wasn’t even really during play….it was during a faceoff and was waaaay beyond just a heat of the moment situation during the middle of a play!

It’s who you are and who you know. Hit Crosby, McDavid, Matthews or Draisaitl… automatic suspension and fine. If you hit Marchand, you will not get a penalty but Marchand will be suspended and fined based on his reputation from 10 years ago.
They are completely different scenarios though. One was at a stand still before play and the other one was at speed and during play.
He plays dangerously. He gets made an example.

Grier did it by accident, he was just giving Hoffman back what he gave Grier. Hoffman needs to quit bitching and grow a set.
What no one is talking about is player history. I like Hoffman, and I'm a habs fan, but he has a history. Itd be like kadri and mcdavid making the same stupid move. One has a history. One doesn't. (Probably a bad example using McDavid cause he's a superstar, but you get my point.).
That should have been more games, but arguing that you deserve less when you have a history of this type of shit, will not help you at all
