From the Laval Rocket Twitter account : Two-year, entry-level contract for Jakub Dobes
The 21-year-old netminder also agreed to a contract allowing him to finish this season with the Laval Rocket.

Happy to see it, with no guarantee that Primeau can clear waivers, it’s nice to see there will still be a goaltending prospect in Laval next season.

Ngl didn’t expect this one. I can’t see why you’d sign him to play like 20 games in Laval. One goalie is gone or they’re gonna do 50/50 with Primeau in the A

It was reported earlier that they were considering this, but I had tended to assume he’d ultimately do another NCAA year. I guess we’re going to see him and Primeau as a tandem in Laval?

Very excited to see what this guy can do in the pros!

    Primeau and sam next year?
There are like 11 or 12 teams looking for good backup goalie for next year.

Sign cole to a 50 million a year deal now please

.926 average over the course of his last 2 years in the NCAA and a 2.29 GAA

I’m optimistic about this one even though I’m typically not about goalies

ncaa numbers are good but goalies are such a dart in the dark thing, seeing as many games as possible in laval isn’t a bad plan to see what he’s got

im assuming allen or primeau fight it out for 1b role next season and loser gets claimed or traded

If this doesn’t lit a fire under Prime’s ass idk what will. He had a great night against Philly hopefully he can build on it.

Nice. Can’t wait to see him perform next season.

  16. Looks like they gave Primeau a look to see if he could get the odd start as a backup next year.

Then when it turn out well, they went ahead and signed Dobes when they could have left him in the NCAA. Meaning they knew they could give him starts, which wouldn’t happen if Primeau was still in the AHL.
