[Murat Ates] Nikolaj Ehlers is on pace for 10 and a half minutes of ice time tonight. He has been the #NHLJets leading scorer per minute of ice time for several years in a row. The Jets are (largely) doing this to themselves.

Bones’ comments that he is giving him “as much ice time as he can”?? Makes no sense.

Ehlers is a fkn warrior. I love Murat’s work, but it’s his turn to stir the pot, or look under the lid…. This version of the team doesn’t work for whatever reason. Putting ehlers on 3rd line is not a terrible thing considering he couldn’t help linez 1 or 2 from doing even more nothing.

When the GMs contract expires, move on restarting the culture of the franchise… It’s the only thing that hasn’t been tried. With the group of players they’ve had in the last 5 years, results should be better.

He could be hurting. I dunno though, all I know is pain

Yep. Either bowness is a fucking moron or scheifele and wheelers agents have infiltrated the coaching staff. This is moronic

You got to give credit where it’s due:

Benching your best player for 50 minutes a game and then saying tour team doesn’t work hard enough is a pretty legendary level of stupid.

In the post game he said it was because Stenlund was out for a few right side dzone faceoffs and they got stuck, so ehlers missed shifts. Said he tried to make it up in the 3rd which he noticeably did. Bones did agree he needed more ice.

Imo still doesnt excuse his deployment. I’ve been vocal in my criticism of Ehlers game when I feel he has been forcing plays, but right now I think that’s the missing element of our game. We are entirely too predictable and ehlers is exactly the player to create some chaos. With our power play on life support there’s no excuse for him not to be on pp1. This coming from a pretty patient fan that gives a lot of benefit of doubt to our coaches these last years.
