Hockey Night in Canada Insider Elliotte Friedman joined the guys to chat about Max Sasson joining the organization, their play under Rick Tocchet and more.
The team is clearly playing better defensively now, but is that strictly because Tocchet is doing a better job than Boudreau? Adam Foote and Sergei Gonchar were brought in specifically to help out the team's defence. These guys were available before the Boudreau firing, but the management did not choose to bring them in until Tocchet was hired. It is water under the bridge now, but I don't think management really gave Boudreau a chance to succeed, and was happy to see him fail so they had an excuse to bring in Tocchet as they wanted.
Elliotte actually did have one of his better hair days today… (all things considered, that is)
I get the 'give it a rest' ask from the players. It really seemed like this entire season it was a constant "When is Bo getting signed?, When is Bo getting signed?, When is Bo getting signed?, When is Bo getting signed?, When is Bo getting signed?, When is Bo getting signed?, When is Bo getting traded?, When is Bo getting traded?, When is Bo getting traded?, When is Bo getting traded?, Is Miller getting traded?……."
I like you guys, I listen to you all the time, but sometimes hockey media just has way too much air time to fill.
How excited is everyone for having zero chance at Bedard, prob trading their 1st round pick and most likely not fully replicating this success at the beginning of next year?
Canucks are in 10th place, well done Canucks I hope and pray 🙏 they finish 12th !!! and out of the Bedard lottery. Canucks were only 6 points behind CBJ in February. I will never understand why not tank just this year when Bedard is local kid with special talents and only come around a Generation, the last was McDavid before that Crosby. The Owner doesn't deserve a very Elite player, I hope one of the West teams get him. Please news organizations STOP 🛑 taking about Tanking !!! The Canucks are done. It will be groundhog day again next season.
