Yes I want to see Brayden Tracy play some games, maybe Perreault. Definitely Groulx and Helleson

Plus, the Gulls aren’t even going to the playoffs so it’s not like they are making a push for anything.

Yes please, it does get hard to watch. Seeing new players develop is some consolation when the team is down 1-4 at the start of the third

I believe terry was out for personal reasons not an injury so I don’t think there is a timeline for him. But I do agree we should give some of the prospects Ice time for the rest of the season

    Not at all.

    1) I don’t see why people who hate Eakins and insist he’s ruining the development of the young players are clamoring to have important prospects brought up to be in a bad environment with a bad coach. It’s been happening all season and it’s weird.

    2) Not that the Gulls are doing all that much better. I’m personally not too excited to see guys from the worst AHL team, who couldn’t make or remain on one of the worst rosters in the NHL, come up and handed game time because some fans are bored. (And don’t get me wrong, I like Regenda a lot, but they made it very clear where they felt he needed to be developing this year). Nobody should be brought up unless their performance forces it, and GMPV has stated a similar outlook.

    3) Derek Grant was one of the best players on the ice last night, is a long-time Duck with a terrific story, and has been overall solid since returning from injury. Jayson Megna busts his ass every shift for a terrible team he never asked to be stuck on. Nathan Beaulieu came in off a PTO, willingly throws himself in front of everything, and has a statistical case for being the team’s best PKer. None of *them* were responsible for a roster that wasn’t designed to compete. They’ve paid their dues to this tire fire and have every right to earn their remaining ice time and play for their futures.

It’s so easy to say it’s a lost season, play the kids, screw everyone else, but the people who are actually currently on the team still have things to play for. They’re human and deserving of fair treatment. If supporting the guys who’ve actually been out there all year isn’t a good enough reason for the fans to watch… I get the outlook but find it kind of sad.

I do not agree with the post. While there are a couple who might deserve to be sat a game, maybe two…Megna, Grant, and Beaulieu are NOT the ones who deserve that. They’ve been doing their JOBS on the ice. You may not LIKE those three, but guess what? THEY’RE COGS IN A MACHINE. There are broken bits, but it isn’t THEM that’s underperforming. AND, you can’t just look at just our players…you have to remember…THERE IS AN ENTIRE OTHER TEAM on the ice…who are good and doing everything they can to STOP the Ducks’ forward progress towards the goal. And then, pretty sure there’s been some BAD CALLS and NO CALLS on some plays by the refs, who do NOT have to answer for ANYTHING. So, no…I do NOT agree. This team is not a VIDEO GAME. Have a nice day, y’all.

Idk if people in here pay much attention to the Gulls but they are abysmally bad also. So while I’m good with giving other people a shot I don’t think it’s gonna change much.

Wait until I (a Gulls season ticket owner) tell you how bad they have looked all season as well.

Out of all the prospects on the Gulls, I think Groulx and Regenda are the only ones ready to make the jump to the NHL over players on the current roster.

Groulx has grown into solid two-way player that has been pushed into handling tough defensive assignments and faceoffs. I can see him as next season’s 4th line center. It’s also a possibility that the Ducks don’t qualify him as an RFA, which I think would be a mistake before seeing him in an NHL stint again.

We’ve seen what Regenda brings, it’s just a logjam at LW.

Tracey and Perreault are still better off in the AHL. They lack defensively and get pushed around more than they should. It’s become evident that the Covid seasons really affected their development.

I would’ve expected to see Helleson just out necessity with how the team lacks RHD, but he’s not there yet. I expect him to make a push during next season’s camp, and even then, I think he should be sheltered on the 3rd pairing.

    Yes/no.

I wouldn’t hate seeing some of the defensive guys up, but the guys who can put the puck in the net should absolutely stay down because we can’t be ruining the chances at getting a higher pick.
