why does the move to NY look like it was the most stressful thing that ever happened in this man's life?

it looks to me now like Gallant has him completely handcuffed and playing 'defensively responsible' at the cost of any offense. dump ins from mid ice and the blue line constantly. no wide open play. no nothing. complete waste of him. will only get worse in the playoffs. he'll contribute nothing and then at the end when Gallant desperately needs a big goal in a big spot, he'll beg Kane to help the group get it, and Kane won't be able to, bc he hasn't been allowed to the whole game/time he's been on the team. they are not winning the Cup if Pat Kane is primarily worried about being responsible in his own end. this dude needs to be playing wide open offensively. instead his linemates are the ones we see more often on breaks w him trailing way behind, worried about covering his man. that is just terrible coaching.
