You can definitely tell from Larkin's emotions that Bert was his boy, but this is a process and a business. You gotta take it. I honestly trust Steve in the process, and am excited to see what the future holds for this team.
I know it's a business and all the other layers that apply particularly to us like the rebuild window and all that. This still sucks though. I'm happy with the returns today, but losing Bert is hard. I genuinely hope he comes back this summer.
So many dumb questions like they just got out of journalism school βdid you ever think Yzerman would be in your kitchen growing upβ. Those questions were ok when he was a rookie but come on now
As a Bruins fan, I feel bad that Larkin lost one of his good friends on the Red Wings. Losing a friend is a tough thing to go through. Weβll take good care of Tyler, Dylan. I have so much respect for you and the Red Wings organization.
Congratulations on the contract Dylan, it's a huge win and you have been earning it lately. As far as losing your friend, you never really lose such a good friend, there will come a time when you both will look back with smiles…
Iβm interested to know if beat writers have to talk over each other or if the Wings could get a moderator – itβs annoying to hear them have to figure it out.
What a rollercoaster. Last week it was looking like the playoffs were in reach and maybe add at the deadline. This week 2 bad games and we sell bertuzzi. Im sad
Bert will not return to the wings. He will command too much money after winning the cup with Boston and his age will not fit into the wings timeframe. His Detroit days are over. Wish him the best.
Happy to see Hronek gone and thrilled with what we got for him. Very sad to see Burt leave my Wings because he was always a gritty player who gave his all and over the years became a talented scorer. This year was very tough on him injury wise which occurred during him blocking shots. He never really regained his former form but I'll always be a fan of this brave man. He was the only NHL player that I know of who stood up against the jab and was always a team-first player. We got a good return on this trade though. LGRW
I understand that it's a business but if Stevie knew this trade was going down this morning, he should have pushed this press conference until later in the day. To give Dylan more time to process it all.
Larking, congratulations on your new contract and welcome to Pro hockey buddy. What I personally want you as a C to improve is to start realizing that you are actually in a professional league. We have younger and veterans who handle the changes clearly much better than what you do in the picture here.
S.Y made a perfect decision to trade Bert and the return for the player and the person Bert was very balanced from both teams involved.
Bert is given new and better opportunities to win SC in a strong team as B's is. The season that B's is having today is fantastic and most things say that they will go far, very far in the playoffs. Bert's way of playing fits well in B's, in RW it only causes injury problems.
Few DRW fans can deny that he hasn't actually managed to play that many games out of the last 250/games that DRW has had.
It would be good if our C and fan base see the whole deal and not just one side of the whole. Being emotional is not wrong, however, you can easily turn the negative side into strength by seeing that Bert is given better opportunities to find his success in B's and admittedly does not have 8 years left in his damaged body.
I wish Bert and his family the best of luck in Boston and I thank Bert for all he has done at DRW during his long time here, thank you Bert.
Remember back on opening day of free agency when I was one of the only people who said that these new contracts are either stop gaps or down right bad deals and that this team is still no closer to the playoffs?? You all had such sweet things to say to me ππ. Anyone ready to come to my side of thinking that Yzerman is just a guy who you all loved as a player and just got extremely lucky in tampa?? Anyone else ready to start having the conversations that it may be time to consider firing this man as we are offcially rebuilding the rebuild 4 years into him being here??
I know it sucks from a personal side for Larkin. However, I feel like that top line was holding him back from his potential. Bertuzzi and Hronek were great trades from a business standpoint. We are just making cap space for McDavid. π
Love you so much Dylan! So proud of you and you are doing a beautiful job of carving your own name into the hallowed halls of greatness! Grateful for you, this team would be nothing without you. The wonderful thing about friends like you and Tyler is that you'll always have each other, no matter where you are or what's going on. Bless you, go Red Wings!
Bertuzzi getting traded is the worst thing the team has done since I started watching in 2018. The only guy who constantly puts his body on the line for his team (literally broke both his wrist/hands blocking shots this season) and has the heart of a true redwing player. The injuries he's had have been his biggest set backs, but when he's healthy he's elite. Really disappointed in this trade and wish Yerman wasn't so cut throat with his rebuild strategy.

It's business, you're supposed to be a team leader, getting paid don't be a Cry tit

Breaking my heart, man
Helene st James is just the fucking worst…what kind of questions are these
The Bruins were going to win the cup this year without Bert, now itβs a lock!
Maybe weβll get him back next year?
I wonder if Larks wouldβve signed if the Bert trade happened first?
Probably.
This is very disappointing losing bert π’
I hate Helene st James.

Bert wanted too much money and too much term for someone who has struggled to stay healthy and hasn't produced much this year when he was healthy.

Miss you already Bert β€ thank you ππ» hope youβre back soon
I am going to miss number 59 we have to move forward and get better so we can get in to the playoffs
I'm calling it Wings won't be contenders for another 5 or 6 years. Book it
