All of a sudden FLA jumps NYI and PIT in playoff odds, and PIT’s odds drop from 96% to 54%. Officially a 3 horse race for those last two spots.

How do the isles panthers and penguins all have above a 60% chance to get in to the playoffs?

  2. Reminder that MoneyPuck is absolute garbage based on erroneous shot-location data. I strongly recommend ignoring it forever and using a different model for playoff odds. I personally use the HockeyViz odds which are just much more accurate.

Makes sense as Florida has a ton of momentum and not too bad a schedule. It’s a 3 horse race at this point and all 3 teams have an equal shot more or less. We’re going to have the tiebreaker against Pitt but Florida is going to be close. If we end up pushing to a second tiebreaker we’ll edge out Florida too.

How do the hurricanes have a 100% chance to make the playoffs??? They haven’t clinched it

    Edit: and the maple leafs

Could be based on the difficulty of the remaining schedule and the fact that they have an extra poss 4 points available while we’re only 3 points ahead that’s my best guess. Penguins been playing like shit as well.

LOS ANGELES KINGS all the way to the finals.

Pittsburgh has 2 big injuries (Pettersson and Kulikov) on defense and possibly 4. It’s going to be a race.

both teams playing 1 of their games “in hand” tonight. It would be really nice for Ottawa and Detroit to get some big wins for us

Pittsburgh is playing like shit. Just outperform them for the next month and Florida doesn’t matter
