It's a crappy position she put Marty in and I'm sure she didn't realize that. He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. You can kind of tell he felt bad saying no but it's a choice between professionalism and appeasing one person in the middle of a game. He made the right choice and good on her for taking it well.

I’m sure Martin would have been more than happy to say a quick “thank you” or “hello” had she just said, “Hi,” or “You were one of my favorite players!” But I don’t blame him for denying her request. And if she had the ability to get down there in the middle of the game, wouldn’t she have had the opportunity to get to St. Louis during warm-ups? Not saying he would have said yes, but at least she wouldn’t be bothering him in the middle of the game.
