Going into the game, I had a feeling we would win vs. Pittsburgh. Last meeting was 5-4 OTW and we were expected to lose that one too. Sucks to see. half their shots lmao
Dream for Top 4 odds is not dead yet, but damn is it a struggle. At this point, I have to mentally prepare that we are going to end up bottom 7-9 than 6-4 and I don’t want to. Let me huff on that Copium some more please god let us get Top 5 odds, I want off the mediocrity train and put my hope on a special kid.
I am team tank and all but I’m just tired of hearing so many doomers bitching about something we have no control over on every fucking game thread man.
Going into this entire stretch and expecting without a win was unrealistic anyways. We were gonna win at least one game. We were on a SEVEN game losing streak and the boys were very clearly craving for a win.
We still have a chance at top 5, we’re only up by 1 point. It’s not the end of the world…

Montembault was great, but if Jarry had just saved two of the 4 goals he allowed in 7 shots, they would have lost.
And after 7 straight losses, they were due to win one.

The chase for the bottom is equally as stressful as chasing the playoffs. Disappointed in the playoff teams that can’t seem to get it done against a banged up basically AHL team. Oh well loved watching Barron show us some of his offensive potential.

Nevermind the standings. When the game got to 5-4, Montembeault decided he wasn’t letting anything in. And that last shift by 49-14-60 was pure beauty.
I don’t care about having 6.5% or 8.5% odds of picking 1st OA. I do care that whoever we pick will come into and contribute to this never-say-die culture we’re building.
Bound to win 1 out of every 8 lol. I’m fine with that and expect that to happen. Good showing all around.

Still a small sample size and I don’t imagine he has miraculously become a different player than he was in Dallas, but Gurianov definitely looks worth giving a full season to. I don’t see what we have to lose on that front.
Fun game! I think if Montembault can work on seeing through traffic, he has a shot at being a legit NHL goalie on a playoff contender.
I’m torn, I want to lose and get better odds. But watching the insane tankers lose their minds and throw hissy fits is so damn entertaining.
