The Toronto Maple Leafs get set to play at home against the Edmonton Oilers and will try to have a better outing than what happened on their road trip. David Morassutti is joined again by Frank Stanisci to prepare you for the game as Toronto had some different looks at practice before settling on the 11 forwards, 7 defencemen lineup for Saturday’s game.
David and Frank go through the lineup and give their thoughts on the Leafs not going with the 12 forwards, 6 defencemen against the Oilers. They look at Connor McDavid cementing his status as the Hart Trophy winner and how the betting odds show that it’s not even close and what the Leafs will need to do differently this time against Edmonton.

It’s clear more than ever that Kyle Dubas didn’t do anywhere near enough, leading up to and including last week’s trade deadline, to improve depth scoring or blueline. Even with the addition of Ryan O’Reilly, subpar offence has been a problem in too many games following that acquisition.
Why don’t holl have to fight for hi ice time. Keefe is the leafs problem.
The fans who commented below me CLEARLY don't know a thing about hockey, how the GM job works or what the coach is deciding in the moment. Experiments and Final pairings/lines are two different things. All this is to see what he's got leading up to Game 1 and who his reserves will be… Oh and by the way ….THE LEAFS ARE 4TH OVERALL IN THE NHL …I think these guys know what they're doing and up to. Not clowns like these below.

What does Keefe think is going to happen when McDavid gets on the ice and Rielly and Gustavsson are the Leaf's D pair? Last change is great but McDavid can be put on the ice on the fly and they can put him on with any linemates.
If you are hoping for any sort of justice for those car thieves don't hold your breath. They are probably already back on the streets and they likely won't be punished in any way that would deter them from doing it again.
Why experiment with Gustafsson at L/R wing?
