  1. Hughes is also having a franchise calibre season and is going to break his own record for most points by a Canucks defenseman in a season. Hes completely slept on

  2. He's a great hockey player, his toughness isn't that big of a deal in today's NHL, you gotta be tough as far as being resilient to checks and stay healthy but I don't see a problem for him, hrs a great asset to any team.

  3. Petterson is definitely a top 10 player! Granted I am biased since I am a Canucks fan (said with a bag on my dead) but this kid is phenomenon and once he realizes he is often the best player on the ice, and starts shooting even more, he is going to be in the elite five.
    Thanks for the great video!

  4. I’ll worry about him when he changes teams. And top ten forwards? probably. Top ten players? Not even close

  5. He is very unique. Notice when he takes penalty shots or are on breakaways how close he gets to the goalie and most often bumps into them but scores, since most goalies expect a player to avoid them because it can result in a save they don't anticipate someone crossing that line and still scores, it's like Pettersson don't care about the rest of his body, as long as he has a hand or two on his stick he will try to go through whatever he has planned the puck to do, similar to soccer players they try to foresee openings and opportunities and be one step ahead, but the crazy part is that Pettersson are very well aware that he can actually score when he sees such opportunities, just as an example in the past two games when he and Miller have made three goals shorthanded, if you look at Pettersson before he has received the puck, or even when he just stepped onto the ice, he is casually observing and planning what to do if he gets the puck to score a goal, and lo and behold he finally gets the puck and they score, lol. I think that the shorthanded goals are a prime example of nothing getting in the way of Petterssons mind to score a goal if he sees an opportunity to do so, he is as cold as ice, very sneaky and tricky, he tries his best to think outside of the box, literally lol.

  6. i remember saying petey would be a top 5-10 C one day after his rookie szn. i got heckled for it. lol

  7. You knew the dude was going to be something when he was in the skills competition and he broke the electric Target, if you even watch hockey for past years you know this was expected nothing new just petterson

  8. As a Devils fan it's sad to see how miserably Vancouver is failing at putting a team around him. Him and Quinn Hughes are two truly elite players but the lack of patience or vision from their front office and ownership is wasting his career.

  9. 😂😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡 yea he’s so great that he’s carried his team to last place this season. Gimme a break you don’t know what you’re talking about 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  10. If he was playing in Toronto, Montreal, New York, or Boston, he would be getting all the love in the world from the media. He flies under the radar in Vancouver. His best seasons are still ahead of him.

  11. Pettey gotten a lot more physical ie: throwing hits and he's transitioned into a 2 way center. More often then not, he's usually the only one on the Canucks who are actually back checking. Glad to see someone with passion on the Canucks.

  12. When you have two-way defensive ability and 100 point potential, that's a player 32 teams would bend over backwards for.

  13. And you didn't even mention his Selke-worthy season… He's playing box play because he is too good not to.

  14. Its insane honestly, when he has the puck you know its gonna be good. Its a player u trust when he has the puck. I dont think he has it enough honestly. The way Vanc is playing right now really limits Petterson. Cuz i feel alot of players around him kinda messes stuff up alot. All the respect to the players but Petterson deserves better.

  15. I think he can definitely play like this consistently for most of the rest of his career, it will be ok.

  16. I might not of heard it but did you talk about his 2 way game? He's very good defensively

  17. This is why you should not try to tank for better drafts, besides the fact that it's an idiotic system and whoever implemented it should burn in hell for all eternity, never should fans want their team to lose something is seriously wrong if that is the case. Let EP40 build up his confidence for next season. Winning these games still helps the team if not in terms of playoffs but in team building. Then there are the all important stats that shouldn't be taken away from petey
