From Friedman’s latest 32 Thoughts article:
“22. Vladislav Namestnikov waived his no-trade to go to the Jets. I think he had other options, but was content to go there. “

What a gem. I have all the time in the world for players that sign here long term and/or waive a NMC to come here.
From what I heard he had a good relationship with Bownes
Vladyyyyy! Love this guy already and this adds to that even more
The boys need to get their shit together for our new friend. Let’s not disappoint him.
I’ve got so much respect for him. Not everyone wants to go to Winnipeg. However, my idea of hell would be somewhere like Anaheim. I couldn’t deal with the constant heat and humidity.
what a good dude
Give the guy an A.
Love it. Love his play. Let’s start getting him some W’s.
Hope he considers re signing here. I’ve liked his game so far
If he is willing to take a chance here, they we should support him and the team.
Love Vladdy as well, it really was a great acquisition, can’t say I have seen him make a poor play yet and he killed it in the centre when he got the chance last game.
I hope we can pick up some wins for both him and Nino who are working their arses off.
Do these guys just put Winnipeg into the NMC part of their contracts by default or what?
It is a little goofy that players have this ability. Obviously the NHL will never apply pressure to the PA in bargaining to get rid of the clause since it’s probably only us and maybe to a lesser extent Calgary, Ottawa and Edmonton that it really causes headaches for.
He has been looking great. Feels like Jets are so close here last couple games. Either Helle is on and the team is off, or the team is on and Helle is off. Just need to align some how ffs. Last night may have been 1st game of the year that the loss lies directly at Helles feet imo. Now into the lions den of the east with the season hanging in the balance
Looks like Bones is very familiar with him and a history, so I’m sure that helped.
Now we just need to stop looking like a bunch of jackasses so Nino and Namestnikov don’t feel like they are getting buyers remorse.
This is the type of stuff I like to see; I wish more players would take the chance on the city and the team. Player perception can be rooted in not knowing the unknown
Chevy probably tried for younger more flamboyant guys at the deadline, but they weren’t interested in coming here.
I think the Peg gets a bad rep based more on assumption than actual experience. The two 30 year old guys they got at the deadline have been traded before and no longer have their heads in the clouds. They actually fit better in many ways like maturity, personality & being around the league.
