Timo Meier is OFFICIALLY a Devil, But WHO Wins this Trade? Devils OR Sharks? I'd LOVE to Hear YOUR Thoughts Y'all!
Sharks definitely didn't win this deal. They needed one of New Jersey's top 3 prospects for this to even out. Getting a pick in the mid to late 20's to possibly the 32nd for a proven scorer and the best player left to be available at the trade deadline is crap.
It looks like the Sharks just inverted their issues with the GM switch. Doug used to give up too much in trades and sign players for too much. Now Mike is just giving players away. So far not impressed with Mike's asset return for his assets.
If that 2nd turns into a first and they hit on both of those players (meaning they have a good NHL career) then I say sharks
hate to be negative but this host is trash and the visuals were trash. he literally made the exact same speech twice in a row at the beginning
the fact is that the NJD needed to add Timo for their "Now Team", and the Sharks didn't need to make this trade at this moment in time. they could've made Fitz sweat a little and pry loose at least 1 prime asset. Fitz should be pleased with himself by taking advantage of a rookie GM. NJD hands down won this trade!

This is utterly an F grade trade for San Jose… New Jersey didn't have to give up a single one of their MANY legitimate Top Tier prospects in exchange for Meier. San Jose received a bag of Tier 2 at best prospects plus 2 very low 1st round draft picks. Total trash trade. Congrats Jersey. I hate being a sharks fan right now.
I can’t believe the Devils would give all that up for a player that might just leave in a few months after the season.

The biggest loss here for the Devils is Shakir (potentially)….. Let’s see how he pans out with the Sharks, but overall the Devils came out on top because Timo makes their top 6 super dangerous…….
I was sure Montreal would swoop in at the last moment and steal Meier…after all, they could offer Josh Anderson one for one! Haha
Devils. Figures. Honestly, I would not be shocked in a year he shifts to L.A. How long does he want to play on the second stage?
Sharks won this trade. Timo has a history of being streaky, he's a RFA so basically a rental until he signs, sharks got a top D prospect (which they need), potentially 2 firsts, a middle/bottom 6 fwd. NJ doesn't resign Timo or win a cup they lose this trade.
As a sharks fan I am so so so sad to see him leave our team… but happy for him because I think the Devils have a good chance to win the cup, this guy is good good and when he’s on a good team I can see them really dominating…. Might be a part time devils fan now. Love Timo 🙏
