I never was a sharks fan but these two were always my favorite sharks and two of my favorite players in general that I got the privilege to grow up watching.

I remember when I was a little boy, the nhl had a couple expansion teams, one being San Jose. Sandis ozolins was their first pick. Back then we all collected hockey cards. Every Friday when I got my allowance, I walked to the store to buy a pack of upper deck. For some reason, getting a San Jose card made me happy. I’m a Vancouver boy but San jose is a great place, has amazing hockey fans and now you’re retiring jerseys from some of the greats.

Not gonna lie I teared up a little. The two guys who really put the Sharks on the map.
i was 14 years old when i got my first PC. The first two games i got were Half-Life and NHL98. Soon after NHL99. I was playing solely San Jose Sharks and even if i wasn't able to watch the actuall games (i'm from Europe) back in the days, these two players were on my roster non-stop. Watching this, my memories comes back … amazing how far and for how long these players stayed together. I'm thankful to the YouTube algorithm, that it showed me this video. Best whishes to both of them from Slovakia 💌

Who cares is they didnt win stanley cup. Both were amazing to watch and they won other stuffs with the national team for example.
I dont know why it is not that big in north america but national hockey is huge in my country sweden and in many other european countrys.
Then there's other european countrys that hockey will be bigger in, its easier for people to play today. I couldnt play because i was from a household with a singlemom with 4 kids but i played football/soccer instead, but today everyone gets the chance to keep playing hockey.

Loved watching the late 2000's early 2010's Sharks teams. So much fun. Islanders fan here and would get the hockey package each year back then to just watch San Jose and Detroit games. Loved how those teams just played and moved the puck.
