He already is the next Puljujarvi
wasn't a great player to begin with, shouldve been late first/early second round pick. that said he wasnt given a great chance to succeed. he was playing the majority of his time this year on the fourth line with michael haley and greg mckegg who have a combined 25 goals in their nhl careers.
so in short, i have no idea what his trade value is, we'll see how he does in europe like puljujarvi.
A change of scene could be what he needs to find success, like ryan strome when he came to the rangers from edm or dylan strome when he went to chicago from phx.
As a Swede, i’ve always thought he has been somewhat overrated.
Andersson is a bust. Puljujarvi is good enough to play in the NHL, he's just not as good as he thinks he is.

As a rangers fan, I honestly dont blame andersson for being mad tbh. David Quinn is terrible at dealing with young players. He’s alienated andersson and potentially vitali kravtsov, and in my opinion he has no clue what hes doing. He has Brendan Smith, a third pair defenseman, playing WING on the 4th line with MICHAEL HALEY of all people brett howden at center who’s just as stagnant as andersson has been. Maybe andersson isnt an NHL center, ok. Why not try him at wing? Theres roster moves that can be made to assess his talent at an NHL level, yet Quinn is too stubborn to make a move. I hate David Quinn. Dont even get me started on lindy ruff too, hes another story tho. We shouldve kept AV
As someone who saw Lias quite a bit in the SHL, I thought the Rangers picked him too high from the start. A defensive forward with limited to no offensive upside, but those guys get overhyped b/c they know how to play against men in Europe earlier than the offensively gifted guys (think Lucas Raymond for the upcoming draft). Thought he would be a 3C at best, and rn needs a change of scenery imo (Rangers coach doesn't seem to like him, but I think he could play well on the Oilers as a 3C/4C)
I’m from Hartford and I have seen him play quite a few times over the years. You don’t really notice much about him on the ice but he does little things that leads to some points. I think the whole idea of him being a top 6 center is out of proportion in the NYR organization, he needs to go to another team with the right system. I think with the right team, he still has potential to be a very effective 3rd line center
You know where Jesse could get a lot of mins on a team desperate for top 6 forwards…the Oilers, if he was actually good. AA for Jesse would be ok. 5th round pick for Andersson hope and a prayer. Throw two darts at the wall.
Im sorry but as a Finn, i have lost all hope for Puljujärvi. He went to the Oilers feeling like a superstar, what he wasnt and wont be. Lost motivation when he suddenly didnt perform well in Nhl and cant even speak English well enough. Jarmo Kekäläinen was right not to draft Puljujärvi to Columbus and im sorry for Oilers. He may play good career here in Finland but if someone takes the trade, good luck. He is a handfull of problems.
It is confirmed today that Lias will be playing for HV-71 in Sweden for the rest of the season. He is on loan from the Rangers.
The way you pronounce Puljujärvi hurts me so much……
