I heard the team we play on deadline day has a few left shot defenders available
I am in love with the idea of getting Nick Schmaltz and Gostisbehere from Arizona. Maybe we could swing for the fences and go grab Vejmelka in the same deal and have our goalie tandem set for next season.
you can only get so deep. this team so desperately needs top end talent and they are obsessed with rummaging through the bargain bin.
I mean, I get it, but this feels worryingly similar to the last few years where we get good depth pieces and roll with essentially the same squad and get bounced in the second round.
I know Meier was the ideal, but I sincerely hope that us “being aggressive” does not now mean “load on a bunch of gritty veterans and mid 6 players” because that is not what we need. We need a replacement for Coghlan and top line scorer.

We don’t know how firm the sharks were on Jarvis, we don’t know what other conversations we’ve had, stop acting like the only options are either Timo or just a 7D. I know its extremely risky, he did just come back from the assistance program, but I believe he still has that goal scoring talent in him and Red Wings sure look like they want to offload him.
