Really wanted to see St. Louis product Joseph Woll come home as part of this trade but I know the Leafs have some big question marks in net and can't be trading away even goalie prospects at the moment. Otherwise, seems like a fair deal. Hopefully O'Reilly pulls a Tkachuk and resigns with the Blues in the off season.
Nice breakdown, think this trade helps all involved and I wish O’Ry and Noel luck with the Leafs this postseason.. I bet #90 is back in the Blue Note come July.

Playoff teams always want to add D-men, Like you said O'Reilly is a good one and should help the Leafs. Good trade for all involved as far as we can determine at this point.

Ryan o'reilly is a good guy and can play hockey glad he's going to a cup contender and hopefully he can help the leafs get out of the 1st round
It doesn't matter that the Leaves made this trade, they won't get pass Boston or Tampa Bay. Toronto is not good enough, plus they have a terrible fan base.
The deepest draft in recent history coming up and Dubas pretty much takes the Leafs out of it. Another first round exit would be hilarious !

Well, this should solidify the 3rd and 4th lines for the Leafs with these two pickups. Now Leaf fans can start worrying about defense and goaltending! Good move imho.

ROR said he didn’t want to play anymore in Buffalo. So he was traded and showed what he still has in the tank in StL, so it can work for Leafsland.

I really like O'Reilly. Given his better days are behind him and his UFA status,I feel Leafs overpaid quite a bit. Not to say that he won't be a good help,but with a deep draft….ouch. all the picks and Dubas will be gone with along with another 1st round loss. The Leafs take a step back here. As a Leaf fan this hurts.
Kyle Dubas is really going all in. Their draft pick pool is pretty well drained for the next two drafts. That could really bight them in the long run.

Dubas is just trying to save his job after his mismanagement of the salary cap.
Still won’t get him an extension because this trade may win him a round or two but nothing short of a conference final will do. One player is perceived to match the collective grit and mental toughness of this team to win the cup ?
