Joseph Woll made 29 saves while Michael Bunting scored twice, giving him 18 goals on the season, and Ryan O’Reilly collected an assist in his debut with his new team as the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Montreal Canadiens 5-1.

Leafs actually played pretty poorly (with the exception of some heavy pressure moments) and still somehow managed to destroy the opposition with an AHL backup in net. LOL.
Allen is a great goalie being wasted in Montreal.
If anyone hasn’t yet bought into the SN bias towards Toronto, just watch this highlight reel. It was a full 2 mins before they showed a shot on net for Montreal even though shots on goal were even throughout much of the first period and only 16-14 in favour of Toronto by the end of first. As for leafs fans gloating over this win, well you’re supposedly a cup-contender playing a team starting a rebuild that’s absolutely decimated by injuries. In other words, this SHOULD have been an easy win. Enjoy it while you can cuz the first round is fast approaching and if you’ve seen the first Top Gun, then you’ve basically seen the second one too, just that they’ve added some new characters.
A solid 60 minute effort tonight, the guys were pumped to have ROR in the line up and showed. Him and JT were already discussing strategies on the bench, that's a good sign. The bottom 6 looked energized with the third line taking a more offensive role to provide much needed secondary scoring. Woll looked solid and with Murray out, he will get 3 or 4 more starts over next couple weeks and hopefully do well.
Круто ребята! Круто!
I thought Montreal played well, and they played hard. Unfortunately, the Leafs have way too much star power that dominated the game. GG
Canada's team wins again!!!!
DNL4ever and the toilet seats SUCKKK
mtl getting smashed by the leafs easyyy
Nice win of course but we can't brag too much about beating the Rocket de Montreal. Much more room to improve on those defensive lapses.
Another 3rd period collapse for the Habs.
People saying first round exit. Bet everything you own if your so confident i bet 90% people wouldnt bet
Bozo trade: The Blues receive forward prospect Mikhail Abramov, AHL forward Adam Gaudette, Toronto's first-round pick in 2023, Ottawa's third-round pick in 2023 and Toronto's second-round pick in 2024. St. Louis will also eat 50 per cent of O'Reilly's remaining salary. All this for a slow rental player #90. LOL
You make my dreams come true. Please stop playing that song LOL overplayed songs at hockey games are too much!
Hockey has become so skilled man .. just pause and watch some of these offensive possessions. This age of hockey EVERYONE on the ice has to have some level of handles, speed and dexterity or they aren't getting playing time. They're out here maneuvering the puck through 6 inch gaps with sticks chopping at them everywhere. Crazy.
Canadiens vs Maple Leafs
Strange, usually the Leafs lose these games.
Leafs win.. Now onto Chicago.
Enjoy the rest of the regular season leafs fans. You guys know as well as anyone the painful rent thats coming in the middle of April in the form of the East playoffs.
Awesome win
Nobody took the leafs to beat the Habs. But they certainly had the upset of the night.
Everyone knows the Leafs are awesome…in regular season!
Ya Ya I know this year is going to be different! 😎
Ok seriously. Who are the Habs covering? It's 5 on 5 and their coverage makes it seem like they are on the PK lol
First round exit
As frustrated leafs fans might be buckle up your in for a rough season long way to Stanley but stay the course it coming together.
Man this team looked in control tonight. We have struggled against bottom teams like MTL in the past. Let’s hope more to come!
GLG
4:23:17 Let’s just take a minute to appreciate how much time and effort he put into these vid?
It is incredible, and I think they deserve more than that
Oh wow no way a potential cup contender (if they can get past the first round) beat a bottom tier team, who would have ever guessed!
Glad to see the “Hab beens” got smoked tonight. Just like their season. Burnt toast 🔥
4:40 Josh Allen ☠️. No way these guys get paid and forget the goalies name
Yessir
Actual hockey talk aside, when these two teams play the sweaters they wear and how they look next to one another is very nice, classic.
Cry about it 🤓
Что ещё добавить круто и точка!
mtl not looking too dominant as they claim
À quand nos Nordiques
Gio, Tavares and Reilly, three C's. Leafs are so stacked and still 1st round exit.
Congratulations to the Maple Leafs tonight on Getting past Montreal! They definitely needed this victory to keep themselves high in the standings. Especially on home ice! Joseph Woll made 29 saves in a good performance win!! Honestly Michael Bunting is similar to Tyler Bozak's playing ability only Bunting is however better all around with smooth capability as a wonderful player. Nice to seem him notch two impressive goals!!
Just got back from the Stadium Series game against the Caps (first time I’ve been to an outdoor NHL game—pretty amazing). Anyway, I’m a bit of a Leafs fan (after the Canes) due to practically living in Toronto years ago for my work, and I gotta say the Leafs are looking really good. Elite-level talent up there. Cheers.
