Not gonna lie… snooped around the Red Wings sub about Perron…. They love the guy. Leadership, puck possession, patients, power play… everything we already knew. One guy said, “ Can’t believe the Blues let him go”. Makes me sad. But glad he’s doing so well.
I love Perron but the way the season has gone, they were right to not sign. Clearly the team wasn’t as good as we all thought, and adding perron to this mix doesn’t make them any better.
Kyrou has 9 PP goals in Perron’s spot where he had a career high 11 last year. He’s getting older and now you’re starting to get your young guys ice time since you’re likely a seller. Perron on this team hinders you at this point and there’s no realistic expectation that they would even be 1-2 wins better right now.
I really hope the Blues didn’t leave too bad of a taste in his mouth with not offering him a deal, and he comes back and sticks around the organization after retirement
