I’m confused why he would specifically want anything to do with us. Boston? Tampa? New Jersey? Carolina? What’s wrong with them? Is he chasing a cup, or is there something else that appeals to him?
Tell me how to feel about this. He used to be my favorite player. But I haven’t watched the Hawks since the bubble. Even if rumors of injury are exaggerated… He’s got zero defensive game and we’ve all been on Nylander’s case about that for years and he’s improved. Yes, Willy’s not Peak Kane, but would we be getting anywhere close to Peak Kane??? And what would we be giving up just for a rental??

This is such a no brainer if the leafs can swing it. They would have all the leverage and add a top 6 point per game winger that’s proven he can move the needle in the playoffs.
