“Bertuzzi, who has moved into our Top 10 on our Trade Watch List, is being dangled and several teams have reached out about his availability. As a result of a lack of contract talk, one source close to the situation told me they now “expect” Bertuzzi to be dealt by the deadline.
Teams like the Minnesota Wild, Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames and Dallas Stars are all looking to bolster their top-six and Bertuzzi would be an affordable option with his $4.75 million cap hit.
The Red Wings have a few other players on expiring contracts that will draw interest, such as defencemen Olli Maatta and Jordan Oesterle and forwards Pius Suter and Oskar Sundqvist, but Bertuzzi will land them the biggest return.”

When is trade deadline?
Wow not a good look for Detroit 😂
Montreal is 6 points behind us for 7th in our division. I just checked standings today and man what a bad turnaround the second half of the season. Consistency seems to be our biggest hurdle the past few seasons lately.
Do I watch tonight’s game because of Zadina’s return? I skipped the game the other night assuming I didn’t miss much.

Interesting food for thought, but perhaps a genuine area of concern for getting out of the rebuild is goaltending. For most of the rebuild, the lowest save percentage the wings had from their starting goaltender was a .907 (that’s from one season, otherwise it’s above a .910 the rest of the years).
The previous two seasons the wings have only gotten .901 or worse from their starters.
Any day now I am expecting to see a headline saying “Wings and Larkin agree to terms.”
