  1. I don't understand how qualifying offers get set, and I don't know any of the rules around it, but Debrincat can't be making 9 million. I think he's worth about the same as Norris, but he should be making less since he is a winger.

  2. If Im re-signing Debrincat long term, Im sorry but Im not going higher than 8.5M. If they go higher, they will need to trade a core piece out, like a Josh Norris. Re-signing him is nice, but Dorion needs 9M in extra cap space just for Stutzle and Zub's contracts. They need room to be able to upgrade the defense and #1 goaltender (really hoping they go for Demko), but if you keep Norris and re-sign Debrincat in that 9M area, now the Sens will need another 12M to pay those contracts under the cap (11M if cap goes up 1M). They currently have 4.2M in cap space left and with Norris' injury, you arent going to get what you could have for Norris. Debrincat has more trade value right now, and if they trade Debrincat to lets say the Rangers and they get back Lafreniere and a pick, Lafreniere wont cost a lot to sign him, and you have the space to increase both the defense and the goaltending, and you can always move Grieg to the wing next season paired with Norris and Giroux. Ridly Grieg changed the scenery a lot with his play, and you cant send him down next season, and you can slot in Lafreniere with Pinto and Batherson, and with Sanderson wanting a new contract in a couple seasons, which he is going to get PAID, I dont see a scenario they can keep Debrincat unless you trade Josh Norris. They need the cap space to be able to get that #1 goaltender and that top 4D. If Dorion re-signs Debrincat while keeping Norris, they have no room to improve the defense and the goaltending, so this team will be stagnant where they are, instead of improving it. To me what makes the most sense for the team as a whole, trade Debrincat to the Rangers and get a Lafreniere, who really needs a new home that has a chance to thrive and paired with Pinto and Batherson, he can, at a much more cap friendly contract that they can improve the goal and the defense. For me, I would just trade Norris because as good as he is, he is a lot more injury prone than Debrincat, and Ridly Grieg has fit perfectly on the second line so where does Norris fit?

  3. My first sens poster i got as a kid was alexandre daigle. Been rocking with the team since the mid 90s. Got a good feeling about this group, go sens go!

  4. Pillzy, it’s not a bridge deal if it takes him to UFA! His current deal is a bridge deal. I say Sign Debrincat for 6×8.35. Same money as jimmy stu. Then he’s still young enough as a UFA to get 10M from some other GM

  5. I don't think anyone realizes how little cap we have. If we sign Debrincat we lose Talbot and Hamonic and have to trade Zaitsev in order to afford him. And that's assuming we can sign Pinto cheap. I think we need to move Cat

  6. This teams got me feeling abit nervous. Feels like they just aren't quite were they should be in alot of areas. I'm afraid this team will get stuck in the bottom half of the league and not get over the hump

  7. Debrincat was with Patrik Kanes line so he needs to be with someone who has speed.A playmaker center which is what Steuzle is.But Norris keeps getting injured so if they are thinking of moving a player Norris would be the player. In my opinion you need a true top line center.
Stuezle is a perfect 2nd line center and in 2 to 3 years time he should be ready for full time top line.
    How's the beer Pillsy?

  8. Sens have to qualify him at 9M. Then he’s supposed to take less on a multi year deal? Not sure they can afford that.

  9. 3x 8.5 for DeBrincat. Get through the Giroux contract and figure out what is next?
