[LaBarber] Rasmus Dahlin was asked Wednesday night to replace Tage Thompson in the All-Star Game. He dropped everything, pushed back his vacation and hopped on a flight to Fort Lauderdale to make sure the Sabres were represented on one of hockey’s big stages

Reading this article just makes me think even more that Dahlin is the future captain. He seems so proud to rep the team and city

He didn’t want to take the chance of “bad guy” Vic Oloffson getting in there

I’m so happy for him! His journey w the Sabres has not been easy.

Nice to have about a half dozen guys (if not more) that could easily wear the C on this team.

Funniest thing to me was when they showed Tage in the Bahamas, where Dahlin was supposed to go. Wonder if he just swapped plane tickets with him lmao

Ras just assumed he could go flatten someone with their head down

We are so spoiled for choice for the next C after Okposo retires, but honestly that’s how it should be. A culture of leaders, and the C is more or less just the duties attached. We’ve all seen what happens when a C is given and hoping that the attitude comes with it — we’ve started to win games when we’ve grown a team that’s accountable, and it’s not a coincidence.

Ha I’m on his vacation. I met Tage today. Tuch is here too but I didn’t say hi. I guess a few others are here but haven’t seen them.
