The one thing I can't believe Steve didn't talk about was what Marchand had to say about the Leaf's team. Marchand called out Marner, Tavares, and Mathews. Saying the reason they've been so bad for so long is how much money they are making. That Boston has a winning culture due to star players signing below market value. While Torontos superstars insisted on max money at the cost of their team's overall success. That's not a burn, that's just facts. Maybe the reason he chose not to highlight those comments is that you know just how correct he is.
What Marchand means is the media needs to stay tf out of what is said on the ice. We don't know the battle, we shouldn't know the talk… that's how I took it anyway, and I agree.

I think the coaches should be allowed to force/challenge the refs to look at the replay for certain penalties. Not all of them.

The WORST PART is that most of the journalists Marchand is antagonizing cannot come back at him. I'm sure half the Atlantic would love to tweet Brad "y u so mad bro" but they can't–they'd never be allowed back into an NHL locker room, and players and coaches would stop responding to their questions. Marchand found a group of people he can bully with zero reasoning or repercussions, and he's acting like a child because of it.

Uh, what game were you watching? Even if I might also think the MoneyPuck model maybe missed something where it's probably not true the Leafs win that 70% of the time, they definitely didn't get outclassed. It was a pretty even game outside of one defensive breakdown in the third, otherwise the difference was two Samsonov stinkers.
Bruins fan here too, but would love to see Toronto go deep as long as it is not through the Bruins. The Bruins team tenacity on contested pucks is just next level this year. Possession stingyness is strong too (as it is with the leafs). This would be a good playoff series. I do want to see the Leafs eliminate Tampa (as is the likely matchup).

Steve, Love your Podcast! The team is ruining your life! I've been a Leaf's fan since 1962, image how I feel – I hope they win a cup before I kick the bucket!! I am getting tired of watching the re-runs of the 67 Stanley Cup. My thoughts are that the current leaf's have lots of skill, but not enough size, too much finesse, and not enough fight. Need another player with the skills of Wendel Clark who probably had the best combination of skill, tenacity, leadership and toughness that the Leafs arguably need now. Thanks for your time – it's bingo night here at the home and I am late! 😉
