Nice post by the blues. Love the part “Although he was a Blackhawk, Bobby will always hold a special place in our Blues family for the memories we shared with him and Brett.”

Thank you for giving us Brett. The Hull’s have grown the game that we all love!

Edit: I get he was everyone’s favorite person and most likely undoubtedly an jerk, but a death is a death. It’ll impact his family and those who were close to him. Tough crowd.

I mean I get they have to be classy about it.

But Bobby Hill was a MASSIVE piece of shit. Physically
abused his family. Basically estranged from Brett by time Brett was drafted. And if Brett hadn’t been even better than Bobby and gotten tons of press, there’s a good chance Bobby would never have been around even with Brett making the NHL.

Anyone who says “Hitler had some good ideas. He just went a bit too far” is not someone I will think of fondly.

He also was a wifebeater. My heart goes out to Brett and his family, but I don’t think Bobby was a good man in any sense of the word.

Edit: Bobby Hull also said (in the same interview) that the black population in the USA was growing too quickly, that the Canadian government was too left wing and that genetic testing was a worthy idea.

    > When the Times asked if it would be fair to describe him as a racist, Hull reportedly replied: “I don’t give a damn. I’m not running for any political office.″

That is *a lot* to be a mistranslation. Especially for a newspaper whose big thing was reporting Russian news in English.

Bobby Hull was a POS and he might have been a *massive* POS if the reported article was correct.

Fuck Bobby Hull. All my homies are glad Bobby Hull is dead.

  6. … although he was a Blackhawk … surprisingly enough, not the reason I have a problem with Bobby

I met him at a company conference 7 yrs ago. He asked where I was from and when I told him I was from Vancouver, he started on a racist rant about Asians here. Lost all credibility and respect at that moment.

As a former Blackhawks fan, he was part of the reason I said former.

I’ll just say what I said in the other thread . . . condolences to the family.

Not going to speak ill of the dead, nor is it our place to judge really.

  10. He can rot. Dude doesn’t deserve a gracious death after living a nasty life.

However you feel about Bobby, this has to be a difficult day for Brett and Brett is one of our own. I get why the team would make a statement.

There were stories about him in Chicago. Some famous football player from the Bears dared mess with this cat that Hull used to carry around to bars (he was a big pet and it resulted in a fight which Hull won. And he dragged the guy outside. I can’t remember the Bear but he was one of the famous ones. I tried to look on the internet for the story but it’s not there.

He was a heckuva hockey player and he liked cats.

Too bad he was so mean to women, that’s kind of a big failing most people don’t overlook.
