I’m a bit embarrassed to admit that after going to quite a few Wild games, especially since moving to Saint Paul in October, I finally realized that the Xcel Energy Center has a Lighthouse that actually lights up when we score. I don’t know how I’ve missed this detail, or if I’ve really just had seats that never gave me a clear view. It wasn’t until last night that I saw that this pillar was different than the other 3, which have screens on them. The opening graphic that say “0:60 until we light the lamp” and have a lighthouse, make way more since.

Isn’t Minni land locked? Or does lake superior need one? Never seen a freshwater lighthouse before..

Oh, I’ve been in there. I’m a stagehand and lighting tech for the building. I’ve had to refill the fluid for that fog machine you see going off there. There is this sketchy fold out ladder that goes down from the main catwalk to get there. Not recommended if you are at all dodgy with heights.
