this has to be the most beautiful thing i’ve ever seen

I don’t remember how long ago this was, but there’s a BlackBerry ad on the boards so I’m guessing 10ish years ago.

That’s fucking class right there.

That’s awsome, curious if any American citys could pull our anthem off like that.

I believe that national anthems don’t have any place in professional sports, but this was really nice to see.

Funny, Minnesotans also know the Canadian national anthem.

I’ve known the American Anthem since I was 8,I’m 46 now. My family came to Canada from the States 100 years ago. Still have lots of family in North Dakota. So for me it’s a no brainer.

Nice! But I wish that this practice would stop. I’m tired of listening to singers mucking about with the anthems, trying to make it “their own”. It really annoys me.

I remember in the 06 finals, the Carolina fans booed the Canadian anthem before game 2. So rather than sink to that level and boo their anthem in return, the Oilers felt the appropriate Canadian response was to had out lyric sheets to the star spangled banner so we could all sing along. Still proud of that one

Most impressive thing to happen in a Toronto arena since the 60’s

No one has ever heard the Canadian and the American anthems more than a hockey player.

Americans don’t deserve us.

That’s just how we do!

Pretty cool, but I still don’t think it’s appropriate to play national anthems before domestic league games. Save it for opening night, all star game, maybe the playoffs, and the finals for sure.
not2day55
That was much better than most anthem singers do these days tbh 😊
ABoyNamedSault
Well that’s just very nice. I remember it happening.
Woah_KT
Canadians are just so nice I don’t think Americans would do that

Well shoot. Even Canadians respect the American national anthem more than rich, privileged nfl players.

Reminds me of this. Red Sox fans helping an autistic man finish the anthem.

Thank you to our brothers in the north! We may not always see eye to eye or necessarily get along but that’s what friends do right?
