HI Gil. Good show. Tom petty had a song describing isles current plight. Another game, another loss. Isles handled by more superior pj judas and laffs. Sabres now tied with isles. Its getting ugly folks. 23-21-5. Four of those wins over sorry bj's. Sorokin alone has gotten isles three/four wins. Six/eight points. Take away those bj wins and sorokin's performances and this team isn't even close to playoffs. Now 21 in gf. 28 on pp. A team that should be top five ga is now 10. Isles a team with no strengths, an in over his head coach, and an inactive gm incapable of doing anything about it. Only thing left to do before playoffs are too far out of reach is for lou to throw lane under the bus. Wouldn't be the first time lou has done that to save his ass. Let the re-tooling begin. This roster needs a major shake-up. The question is who is going to do it? If/when lou goes the next gm has a big mess to clean up. Not a favourable job. It will be kind of like yzerman's mess he inherited from holland. Holland doomed wings with bad long-term deals thinking he could just plug useless vets in each season while not giving a damn about the cap plus iffy drafting left void of top prospects. And its taken three years plus to dig wings out of that mess. Had to wait it out to rid wings of bad contracts while gaining draft capital to re-build wings. I pity the next gm.
Lane looking more and more like Coach Klein from Waterboy during his pressers! First half of the movie Coach Klein that is. Someone needs to find Lanes Roy Orbison!
No other teams wants the players on this current Isles roster that Lou would like to get rid of, ie ( Bailey, Beauvilier, Clutterbuck )
There’s nothing more to say about this team except trade the vets, let the kids play and fire the GM!!!!!
Great show Gil. Ok, Bailey still looks like a deer in headlights, his season should be over, his career as an Isle should be over. Beau, skates hard and then stops short of checking anyone, he’s gotta go. Mayfield thinks he’s Potvin and pinches waaaaay too much. Aho, the AHL is his league. Raty, Holmstrom & Martin played ok. Lee actually woke up but he is not Captain material. Sorokin looked dejected. Once again the defense was completely out of position and I blame Lambert, he’s told the D to pinch to get the offense going, we’ll it hasn’t worked for the most part. Nelson, I’ve never liked him, sorry, just not a fan of his. Superstar Barzy once again figure skates into the O zone and losses the puck, what else is new ? It’s not a simple fix no matter how you slice it, it’s painful to watch. I’ll cut Pelech some slack, he wasn’t physical enough and he looked timid and slow. I’m guessing Pags isn’t 100 % but he’s trying. As much as I’ve like Palmieri his entire career, age has caught up to him and he took Czikas stupid penalty last night. No problem with MM last night, he’s playing hard. I’ve figured out what the isles problem is besides age, most guy have become fathers either once or twice the last 2 seasons, it’s like they won’t check cuz they’re scared of getting hurt. Sorry you’re times up, trades need to be made but I don’t see any team picking up our pieces and Lane isn’t a head coach, the isles need a Tortz or a Sutter like coach, someone that won’t coddle them !
Gil did they give Romanov an assist for setting up that Leaf’s goal by not only missing the check but by putting the puck on his stick ? Funny how Butch didn’t mention the assist last night. 😂
Amazing we still over .500 🤦🏻♂️. As I predicted, we are going back to being the laughing stock of the league. I got tickets to a future game and I don’t even want to go anymore as this team gives me high blood pressure. Also Sorokin will leave the first chance he gets
Gil. How many NHL teams would pay a first round pick for Romanov at the trade deadline, where teams pay a premium. ZERO! Why? He sucks! Yet Lou paid a first over the summer for him. Lou is the worst GM in the NHL. He sucks.

The owners better be paying attention because for the second straight season their shiny new building will be dark come playoff time. Time for them to hold the person responsible accountable. This is ALL on the GM. No more excuses. LOU MUST GO!
Hi Gil, we discussed this last season & in the off season if u remember. We said they would be a fringe playoff team because you can’t ask really gd players to play like really great players non stop. They s doesn’t surprise me and I’m not upset. Disappointed yes but not with team, with organization. This was our team to do it and they wasted it. Shame
Sadly, Lidecky? says he still has total confidence in Lou. "Lou has a plan. Now he needs to execute it". That sure sound like a big trade is in the works. I sure hope it happens sooner rather than later.
Lou knew Lane planned to depend more on offense, less on team defense. They say Lou is a hockey genius, yet any hockey idiot would know the team desperately needed more offensive players to execute Lanes plan.
I still wonder if top players avoid the Islanders because they are multi-millionaire entertainers who have no desire to be told to shave every day, change the number on your jersey, cut your hair and dress like a businessman for EVERY game.
Montreal may suck but they’re laughing at us cuz we gave them a 1st for a guy who played great his first game for us but had been downhill since !
