Feels the team gives Vladar more support and plays less sloppy in front of him than they do Marky (unless winning 6-1)
Vladars numbers are better, but not by much. So it’s not like Sutter has nailed a bonafide number 1 to the bench right now.
I do wonder if Vladar would have started today had Saturdays game had ended 6-1 and not 6-5.

I like Vladar, and I agree he should play more games, but I personally think the hype around him is a bit much. I thought we knew better than to rank goalies by wins? Vladar’s save percentage is fairly meh, and his goals saved above expected (according to Moneypuck) is worse than Markstrom’s. Obviously Markstrom is having a bad year, but when you have 2 meh goalies, it’s not crazy to go with who was a lot better last year.
Personally I’m on team Wolf, but that’s a whole other situation…

I don’t see anything wrong with starting Markstrom today. Vladar played 2 games in a row and had a tough 3rd against Dallas b/c the team let their foot off the gas. So now it is Markstrom’s turn in net and Vladar’s turn to get some rest.
Eric Francis is just stirring up shit making a story out of nothing. Markstrom has been fine in net ever since the “I suck at hockey” moment. He isn’t to blame for our recent losses, the team letting their foot off the gas is our current issue.

Starting Markstorm is risky. He has let in easy goals. I feel more confident as a fan with Vladar. With Makrstorm starting I feel nervous and our chance of loss goes up.
Isn’t it all about winning at the end of the day?
