As a leafs fan it’s like watching the same movie over and over

To be fair I’d expect some of the teams with the worst records over that time to also be in the Atlantic. Edit: I checked and Detroit has most losses (246) Buffalo has 3rd most (242) Sens have 4th most (241) and Montreal has 7th most (219)

I wonder if it has anything to do with Buffalo, Montreal, Ottawa, and Detroit being in the same division? Nah must be a coincidence
MindlessArmadillo382
It works fine. The biggest issue with the Atlantic is Ottawa/Detroit/Buffalo are trying to push out of a rebuild. Toronto and Tampa are trying to hang on to playoffs while they core is signed the next 2 years. Florida and Boston are wacky and Montreal is just trying to exist. So the whole division is a mess
larmik
Oof. Three of the top five teams have won the cup in that time span. Bruins really need to win the cup this season. (Sorry Toronto, you need to wait)

How are the yotes not up there?!

I’m still very much in the camp that it doesn’t matter.
It’s total nonsense to be pining over wanting to play lesser teams. You’re not winning the cup without at least 2 genuine contenders in the way.
The round doesn’t matter.
Many teams have knocked out 3 or 4 elite teams to win. They didn’t bitch. They just did it.

Still waiting for Boston to regress..

As a wings fan I don’t love it. It won’t cut it for the wings to be good, they have to be great or they’re not making the playoffs.

As a lightning fan it’s tough but we make it work.

All these team’s fans better not ever complain about their teams! Lucky.

Yuuuuuup. But it is what it is. Win or don’t. Usually don’t.

It’s like the leafs first round hate wouldn’t exist if it was 1v8 in the playoffs. Wow I never would have guessed losing to the cup winner so many times would be because the Atlantic division is the best in hockey right now.

Yes. We do.

Boston making a run for 1st with the insane season they’re having right now.

Had no idea Capitals were this high on the list, but it makes sense I guess. Our inability to do anything in the playoffs since our cup win has left a sour taste in my mouth when thinking of the last 3-4 seasons

Have you seen the metro this year?

All these teams have made the finals, except one can’t even get passed the first round

The metro is a gauntlet this year

I dont know I’m pretty damn happy (I’m a bolts fan)

In general, what is there to like about the divisional format though? The same matchups year after year and you typically have an idea of who will play who (at least 2nd vs 3rd) way before the season ends. The 1-8 seed actually rewards regular season performance, which should be the case when it’s 82 games long…

All I am saying is in 2021 the Stanley Cup final had 2 teams from the Atlantic Division in it.
Thank you Canada’s COVID rules for that nutty lay out in 2021.

Actually, we’re pretty cool with it 😎

That Toronto part is mind blowing.
