The Winter Games will take place this weekend and will feature:
a game between bitter rivals Slovan Bratislava (reigning champs) and HC Kosice
a game between Ocelari Trinec (reigning champs) and Kometa Brno from Czech extraliga
A game between Trencin and Zvolen (also a rivalry from Slovak extraliga)
And also a game between “Old Boys” of Slovan Bratislava and Sparta Prague (players from 70s, when Stastny brothers played for Slovan)

Looks like a warm, rainy weekend in Bratislava, hope the ice doesn`t get too shitty!
Also the see-through boards are awesome for a large stadium like this. I get that the NHL won`t use them cause adspace, but still. The IHL had the right idea with them.

With the shape of the hockey rinks it makes so much sense to be hosting it inside a football or soccer stadium. It’s always weird to me why the NHL is so gong ho on having it in a baseball stadium. Are they hoping to convert baseball fans?

Bratislava sure has improved since 2004. Wonder if they have any new seasons of Miami Vice?
