Why? I can see it making sense if the playoffs were feasible, but it's not really.
Penguins were up 4-0 and lost 5-4 to Detroit so teams give the leads up when other teams get mad they play playoff hockey

Trading Marketstrom was a mistake. The boys loved him and played hard in front of him.
The bottom team in the league has only a 20% chance of winning the Bedard lottery. So any team that bases it's decisions on those kind of odds deserves to lose.
Boudreau isn't going anywhere until at least the end of this season.
A coaching change won't change anything for the Canucks.

Can the avs get in…injuries are hurting them…but injuries affects all teams some more than others tho…they have a great team…they get in even as wildcard and they are healthy…they are the favorites…lol..the other teams shoulda realized the avs were having an off year and buried them and they didn't…avs come out with games in hand so I would say basically the other teams fightin for 1 wildcard cause the avs own one of them.
I had hope that the new management would be different but the miller and mikeyev signings are baffling.. we are a team that is against the cap with no prospect pool and terrible all at the same time.. tough to be a fan of this team right now

People are delusional if they think you can consistently win or win a Stanley Cup without top picks. Everyone against rebuilds are teams that at some point rebuilt…? It's ridiculous, mediocre stay mediocre. The horrible teams that properly draft always end up at the top of the league for a window of a few years. Canucks themselves dropped off big time until the Sedins were real players and now that team is completely gone and this group has not been good enough for basically 3 years.
This year is a lost cause. Might as well play out Boudreau and then sign a coach JR wants. We will most likely sign kuzmenko and Horvat, meaning we need to dump salaries. Boeser is gonna go as soon as a decent return is finalized. Next move Pearson and Garland…then we have enough to sign horvat and kuz. This is not what we should do, we should get rid of everyone minus the 3. But that won't happen with our ownership.
The next canuck big move is to resign Meyers to an 8×8 and let Horvat walk in free agency

They dont need to make A big move; They need to make ALL the big moves.
Coaching staff needs to go. Basically keep Pettersson, Hughes, and Kuz. Everyone else can be moved for whatever we can get. The back end is awful. OEL is probably one of the worst bang for buck D-man in the league. Its a tie between him and Jones.

Everything is the Owners fault, his constant meddling and making them resign Miller instead of trading him and fixing there defensive problems. Now we have a captain having a great season and we are going to what?, trade away a possible fifty goal scorer or let him walk at the end of the season? If i was Horvat's manager, I would be telling him not to resign with Vancouver and go to a team that has a chance to win.
