    I did not watch it. I was at the Blue Jays game against Boston in Buffalo!!! …. the host Chris Fowler knows nothing of hockey (he is (was) the college football host on ESPN) I heard he roasted every team other than the kraken ( a little unprofessional) and the expansion draft was leaked hours before the show!! There’s no entertainment value when you already know who Seattle picked. NBC would have done a better job than ESPN who haven’t had an actual analyst And haven’t broadcasted a NHL game in decades.

    The owner is a Hollywood tycoon it's how they do things there. The Pacific is a weak division they can have the best of both worlds. Make the playoffs as a low entry and securing the future for greater growth. Win – Win!

    You do know that this expansion draft roster is NOT the final roster?! Still many trades, free agency to come… So, asking who's the captain? who's the face of the franchise? is just silly, sorry.

    If you look at Vegas expansion draft roster and the team who played then, it's really different teams you know. People seem to forget that rapidly… expansion draft is just the base to then build the team 😉

    Events like this should only be televised if the names selected warrant it. This roster did not warrant a live crowd. Presentation was poor too. The last selection was a minor league Canuck.

    Just really surprised with their draft picks. I don't think they're going to be nearly as competitive out of the gates as Vegas was. Seems like they were ultra concerned with salary impact…and those goalie picks were IMHO bizarre. Finally, while Jordan Eberle was a solid choice, picking him over Josh Bailey…wow!

    having lived in the seattle area and played hockey my whole life this team is looking a lot like every other seattle team to have ever existed in any other sport, will probably have 1 or 2 good seasons but will generally suck and be a disappointment….be real, seattle has NEVER had any dynasty teams in any sport ever and we typically go 20 years between any successes…..the seattle curse is mediocrity, that's what this team looks like to me now….defense is important but you got to put points on the board to win, i don't see any combination here that's going to be reliable game winners….cap space is important but they were TOO stingy with it, they could have signed at least 2 big names in the forward position and still had 20 million in cap space to wheel and deal…right now we have to have faith in management against the rest of the NHL to make deals and the staff to whip all these young guys into a functional NHL level team….and i'm not confident in them when i see typical seattle stuff like tokenism in the scout staff, like good for her but does she have ANY track record in being able to pick winners?

    let's just say nothing here on any level is really all that confidence inspiring…..that said, i'm going to give it till October before i get really pissed, but for now this looks a lot like typical seattle BS mediocrity, this was our chance to put a winning team together and cement our spot in the league, not hit a reset switch 2 years down the road because they blew the expansion draft opportunity that's only afforded to a team once in their entire history….a massively blown opportunity if you ask me….i pray to god i am wrong but its not looking like it.

    I’m sorry disagree with you, you don’t pay price 10 million to be the face of the franchise. He’s getting older and injured prone. I’m sooooooo happy they didn’t pick price. If we took Price it would have ruin our cap space
