This is the Canucks, one of the worst run franchises in the NHL since they came into the league.

If Bo had 99 points the year previous, they’d have offered him more as well. He didn’t.

The new Jim really fell out of favour faster than Benning. All this talk about building a champion, but we really came back with the same team. I guess Aquilini will always have his way.

Keeping Bo over Miller wouldn’t help this team reach their end goal of a Stanley Cup anyhow.

The mistake was not trading Miller and then trading Bo on top of that and giving the keys to the team to Pettersson, Hughes and Demko.

Trading Miller and Bo plus others could revamp the D and add significant picks and prospects to hopefully build towards a competitive future.

Has anyone talked about the possibility that the team knew in the summer that Bo wasn’t going to resign because either he let the team know he wasn’t interested on staying or was going to be too expensive?

I’m probably grasping at straws here, but this is one if the few explanations that make sense without managment and ownership needing to be completely incompetent.

  6. I wouldn’t bet on Bo ever matching this level of production again

Sorry I follow the Canucks minimally because I am Canadian. Can I ask why management didn’t just trade Miller for a ton at last years deadline, do the same with Bo this year, and use everything acquired to build a young squad around Petey, Hughes, Demko?

  8. They should have traded Miller, brock and Pearson in the summer. They should have done what the can to move oel and Myers

Canucks need to ride the shitty.contracts out and start a rebuild after alot of players are un tradeable unless we give up picks or retain salary. I dont see a winning playoff team for another 10 years so let horvat go and chase his cup. Petey may even age out before we are even close to a contender.

The fact that Bo can play like this but apparently chose not too should piss everyone off.

    Fuck him for that.

Told him he wasn’t worth his initial $7m ask price, offered him 5.25m insulting him… then signed JT to a massive deal.

Yup, Bo wants to leave. He’s just got too much class to say it out loud.

I wondered last night about Bo’s tenure as captain. Assuming it’s coming to an end, how will his legacy compare to Canucks captains of yore?

After looking up the list of all-time Canucks captains, it turns out even with his short stint he’s probably about average? What an underwhelming franchise the Canucks are. So few periods where we’ve been truly competitive, let alone great.

Horvat will do just fine with any other team he ends up moving to.

He’s a player most teams would love to have and that they would also never have to worry about.

Step 1: Re-sign Horvat to a massive deal.

Step 2: Pay futures to get rid of a bad contract.

    Step 3: Perpetual mediocrity.

Prediction: Tyler Myers records a point tonight to tie Jim Benning for career points as a Canuck
