Disallowing the "3rd" US goal was correct. Watch closely and you will see the Canadian player was shoving the American away from the net, not towards the goalie. The US player (his butt) initiated the contact with the goalie's head and his stance inside the crease prevented the goalie from being able to move to his left to stop the wraparound shot. If that's not interference then what is the purpose of even having a goal crease?
Well if he truly wants to stay here offer him a 2yr deal but he will need to take a bit of a discount if he truly wants to stay.

Who's got eyes on Soggard and others? I mean from what I see statistically, there's a lot of struggle going on but I haven't watched them play.
I'm for a 2 year deal if his play stays solid but Debrincat is definitely the bigger piece going forward.
I'm all for extending Talbot a couple of seasons. I think he can stay effective as he gets older, so long as we keep that workload reasonable. Don't start him 4 games in a row.

I think in the NHL that USA goal is called back 1/3 of the time (What the NHL considers 'Goalie Interference' is a complete mess!), but it will always be called back with the clarity of the IIHF rule book.

Talbot is close to, if not already, over the hill. If he makes it to unrestricted free agency some foolish GM will overpay him. I say try to sign him for one more year before the trade deadline, otherwise trade him at the deadline for a 2nd or 3rd or risk losing him for nothing.
