Its to late to tank for a good procent for bedard, but they could come around fourth to eight place from the bottom and would have a shot for a good player, i think fourth place have 9 procent shot at first

Like a never-ending train wreck. Then they sign Miller and look to trade Horvat – the heart and soul captain who is having an elite year. The mismanagement is a comedy at this point.
IMO tanking in hopes of getting the #1 pick never makes sense. Even if you have the worst record and the higher odds of getting #1 than any other team, you still have less than a 1/5 chance. That’s the whole reason the lottery exists- you’d be foolish to tank because it doesn’t remotely guarantee anything.

No no, thats just the preamble. After they finish with the 12th best odds they win the lottery, but with the new rules they can only go up 10 spaces so they draft 2nd.

They don't need scoring!!! THEY NEED DEFENCE…. somehow people forgot that's a major part of the game.
Look, its very simple.
1. You slow play Demkos return. Give him a conditioning stint in the AHL. When you do bring him back its into a tandem situation where hes splitting games with Martin
2. You trade either Bo Horvat or JT Miller by the deadline.
3. Trade either Boeser or Garland even if you have to retain preferrably ASAP.
4. Trade Kuzmenko and Schenn for value at the deadline.
5. Leave Podkolzin and Hoglander in Abbotsford so they can enjoy life and not develop in the Canucks current morass. In addition any player thats waiver exempt should join them. Call up some AHL vets to fill roster spots.
5. Sack Bruce and have Mike Yeo interrim coach. Tell Mike the focus has changed, we dont care about the wins, focus on development.
That is how you realistically tank for Bedard right now if you are Vancouver.
Furthermore, if you were to prioritize futures in the trades you can get value on, next years draft is pretty nice too. Theres a lot of great WHL players in the top 10 of the next 2 drafts, including a number of Greater Vancouver born players, which would be great for selling tickets even of you miss on Bedard.

how is this video 13 minutes long? the answer is just "yes" and even if they dont get the first overall pick, this draft is loaded with talent probably 1-5 would get you players who will probably turn out better than slafkovsky, wright, lafreniere etc

Wow, this 2022-2023 season is all about the tank race because of the one and only Connor Bedard! I feel sorry for the season ticket holders who pay big bucks! Seriously the NHL should re-tool the draft system to discourage this disgusting practice.

Bedard is going to Anaheim. Vancouver is a bust who already has good players but can not get anything out of anyone accept Horvat in his contract season.
Seriously? You think that a bunch of professional hockey players who are paid way more money than everybody else on the planet should play to lose in order to get a better draft pick?
I think that any team that does that should be relegated out of the NHL. In fact, I think relegation should be integrated into the NHL, such that the teams that the two teams that finish last, are no longer in the NHL. Maybe spending a year or two in the AHL, would cause them to get their act together.
I have been a hockey fan since I was old enough to speak, which is some 60 years, and I think that if a professional club of any sort tries to lose, they should be drummed out of the sport.
I understand that you are big Canucks fans, because you probably live somewhere in the greater Vancouver area, but I think you need to look at the bigger picture, which is professional sports teams need to be professional and give 150% every single time they play…

Keep Demko out Double Shift OEL and the Giraffe. Make the 4th line the 1st line plus the new Powerplay. Put Quinn and Petey in Abbottsford. TANK BABY !!!

Let's be realistic and tank for 3rd, 4th, 5th pick. Ducks, Hawks will finish under us. Hopefully Michkov will drop to us at 4th or 5th
the lottery is fixed, tank all you want, it won't change a thing. Bettman and his gang pick who gets the #1 pick everey single year. Yawn, old news, sad but true.
Bedard will be a Canuck in 3 yrs after his ELC runs out… they need to ship everyone out and start rebuilding for that time frame… buy bye boeser, miller,lazar,garland,horvat, Pearson, Myers, OEL, poolman… bring back podkolzin Hoglander and let them get some real ice time and see what they actually have in these two and pick up a bunch of great picks along the way….
We will forever be stuck in the mushy middle. All we can do is pray Bedard refuses to play for whoever drafts him.

YES. I have never advocated for tanking a season for a top draft pick, but the Canucks are in the perpetual cycle of not being good enough to make the playoffs but not bad enough to draft their way into them. Mid round picks cannot guarantee success whereas a top 3 or 4 pick in this draft can. Especially if we somehow manage to end up with the first overall pick. Connor Bedard is a Vancouver boy who loves the Canucks. The team should do WHATEVER IS NECESSARY to make sure he plays here. Period.
We won’t get Bedard. We should be looking at Defence. Sale was pretty impressive this Wjhc. That’s someone we should be scouting cause he could drop to us in the draft
Absolutley should tank for Bedard. What do we have to lose? We arent making the playoffs.
