I really do hope Mcdavid leaves the Oilers it would embarass the management there greatly, but also he deserves to be with a team that's actually going to commit to getting that cup and there's so many good options to make sure that happens. The duck fan in me does want him to come here, but even if he goes to say the Panthers or Colorado I'll be happy he's just out of edmonton. As long as Stan Bowman is there the mess is only going to get worse.
If he wants to win a cup it's gonna be another team where he's not captain so he can play with less pressure

The problem with ConMan McDavid and the crew is very similar to Trump and the Nobel Prize: They feel that they're owed the Stanley Cup and the NHL should just give it to them rather than the team actually earning it.
They have less than a year to change course or McDavid is gone. I could see him going to MTL, Boston or Tampa. He won’t be going to Utah though, Mathews has already booked his flight there!

Its hard to say Edmonton didn't do anything for mcdavid, they just went back to back finals they obviously lost both years but they went as far as a team can go without winning the cup. I look at what mcdavid has done in the biggest games of his career, almost like he didn't even show up. I no done will say well he needed better players beside him but that all goes out the window when u make it to the finals b2b. A true leader is crosby. Look at sister sid has done in three biggest games of his career. Sid even if he doesn't score sid makes big contributions to help his team vs mcdavid and it seems he just wants to do it alone. Just my opinion tho
I remember a comment made after the Oilers won the draft lottery but before the draft, everyone expecting McDavid to go first. "Even the Oilers cant' screw this up, can they?" A decade later, we have our answer. For both forwards and defense, their defensive coverage in their own end has been atrocious for years. I can't even fathom how it is possible for pro players with pro coaches to allow so many opposing players to be unchecked in their own end. It's hard to win when giving the opposition 2-3 free goals most games. What is even more amazing is that they almost won in spite of it. I'm still a fan, though. What a treat it's been to watch McD and Drai, too!! They have a couple more kicks at the can. Let's go Oilers!!

As a Penguins fan, I'm kind of rooting for Carolina, because I'd like to see Jordan Staal win another Cup. But then I think about how pissed all the arrogant Leafs fans and Toronto hockey media would be having to watch Mitch Marner hoist the Cup his first year after escaping Toronto.

Gold Medal Game 2026 Olympics with Crosby absent might be the answer, he was trying for that "Big Goal" by coming in hard, they tried that play four or five times and never got synced up.
