I personally started cackling when CBJ scored with 16 sec left. Anybody else finding the dark humor in this never ending disaster movie?

I would love for 3/4 of this team to be traded…gutless….heartless. Debrincat, kasper, finnie, edvinson, seider can stay…everyone else is fair game.
It’s frustrating because this game was actually really good. They played well, they defended with some heart tonight, getting down and sacrificing the body to keep pucks away from the net. It was a 6 on 5 goal that we scored the same way to take the lead. Just a bummer that we can’t afford a loss like that right now so it hurts worse.

I always make predictions like most fans do at the beginning of the year and say hey where is this team gonna finish? At least they do with the Red Wings and I had them finishing in the bottom 10 although I may have even said it’s gonna be bottom five so obviously I was wrong about that, but I absolutely did not have them making the playoffs. The roster just wasn’t good enough
The only reason this team sustained success for a greater part of the season was Gibson. He kept them in games. They had no business winning and stole a few games in the process.
They’ve had a negative goal differential I would say most of the season, which is not at all surprising and their offense is I think bottom 20 of the league. It’s not good. They need to score 20 to 30 more goals in a season in order to be not only playoff bound by playoff contenders
I’m ranting here for a second but man outside of their top line they get no scoring their bottom. Six there is virtually no goals whatsoever. Yes they have defensive lapses but my God they don’t do anything on the floor check there’s very little hitting just overall this roster construction is not very good and why would we expect anything else but that I don’t know what the answer is, but we’ll see what happens to Steve in the off-season. I think he’s given the greenlight for one more year and that’s it or at least that’s what I would say anyway it was a good season enough to be entertaining and make us all angry.
Im looking forward to the only topic that matters…how will they get rid of Yzerman. I will be happy if next year there is no Stevie, Larkin or Ras to be seen. Better game for Larkin but as usual, too little too late
I'm happy the CBJ won, the ride is basically over I can get off and not have to care. Start focusing on the off-season. This wasn't a bad game. But I mean they should have played like this 6-8 games ago….

I'm unsure why it surprises you that the Wings looked better offensively 4 on 4 than 5 on 5. They literally don't have a single line that ices 3 quality players. They have Larkin, Raymond and a jersey. Debrincat, Kane and a jersey. Then they have a bottom 6 of all jerseys.

Yzerman is probably second only to Gordie Howe in Red Wings lore. Yzerman is NOT a general manager. Get someone qualified to build an NHL hockey team.

Fantilli scored for the CBJ's in almost the exact spot that Kaprizov scored the other day for the Wild. In fact the shots taken, I think, looked exactly the same——- left handed shot from the right side of after a pass….. Look at video of both games towards the end of each game showing when those shots were taken. If that isn't dejavu, and you didn't learn to cover that side of the dzone, how else can you explain it to these Wings players on PK?

Did Yzerman make the Faulk trade due to pressure to make a trade? I think a full season with Faulk will help the team. Yzerplan needs to come to fruition… let the kids play next season, win or lose. Trade/get rid of the "jerseys"- Rasmussen, Appleton, Compher. Still don't get the signings of Chariot and Bernard Docker.
18:19 100% can't count on Gibson to make the clutch save. Make excuses all you want, any standard NHL goalie will save that. There's a reason the Red Wings are goalied every single game and the reverse only happens once every 20 games.
I was watching the post game interviews and Dylan (Larkin) looked like he was seriously holding back tears. While he’s shouldering a lot of blame, you can tell he’s doing everything in his power to get this team over the hump, he just doesn’t have the accompanying talent to do so. Honestly, I felt bad watching that interview, so I’m going to lay off down talking this team. I still hold Yzerman responsible for all of this, he needs to go out and get SUPER STAR TALENT, period! Because that’s what’s been beating the Red Wings these past few seasons.

I’ve been seeing for years that the problem with this team is they don’t have a true 2C. Or you could say you don’t even have a true.1C. Larkin would be an excellent 2C. Signing Copp, Compher to five year deals and extending Ras doomed this team to failure. Add to that signing guys like Justin Hall at 4 million a season, losing guys like ghost who may have been great defensively, but added a lot to the offense, and of course, losing Wallman and a 2nd for nothing were major errors. You guys recently talked about the prospect pool this team has. Basically solid bottom 6 guys. If we would’ve traded some of those guys for a true 2C, we would be in the playoffs now
Name a RW team that has chosen to be led by their golden boy who has been successful in the club's (not organization) 100 year history!!
RW is a team without direction, it is clear that it is due to management directives and its incompetence. Time to grant the GM and his staff their resignation. A new GM and his staff should carry out a major retool and start from a stronger foundation in the three goalies that are in GR today. That is where the future of RW lies, not those that are found in RW today.
ALL should be available for the right price even #53 MO. His window is not certain in the next five years. RW needs a team that can tank to 125%, not do anything half-heartedly and make sure to trade everything of value and let time run out on all the dead contracts that are found from the previous GM and his city. RW has cap space to use to reach the floor and it can be done by taking on a lot of bad contracts that are found in the league, RW needs more future picks to design an impactful team where directive and vision are found.
I'm Colorado fan who has been pulling for you guys last few yrs. But last 4 years the Wings really are the equivalent at end of the regular season as Toronto is in 1st,& 2nd round. As you say-the most excruciating way possible to lose. Toronto almost never loses in 5…it's always game 7. Wings always wait til March to collapse & seemingly always in specific games losing like tonight or Sunday vs Minny.
I honestly do feel for you guys. But you keep saying 3 straight years…isn't it 4 or am I missing something? I thought this was 4th straight collapse they've had. But I saw you guys were ahead with like a minute left,& thought "well maybe they'll stay in the race" as I turned on the AVS game. Next thing I know you are in OT… beyond unbelievable.
The Flyers look like a wagon and I am considering that game a scheduled loss. If they lose that game we’re going to start using phrases like “not mathematically eliminated.” The Wings have to pass Ottawa who is now three points ahead and there are only four games left. Not happening.

One of the most maddening things you hear all year the national media is it the Red Wings are so talented. It’s so young when the fact is either is true they’re not young. They’ve got a couple young players but overall they’re not young. They’re closer to the older side, especially the players.

Someone said Detroit doesn't hate to lose but to me it looks even more like they don't love to win. They could be down 4 goals and suddenly start playing with some urgency, but as soon as they manage to tie the game they stop playing again. Same with this season. They go "wow, we're leading the atlantic, that's good enough" instead of "keep going, let's win this division boys"
